When I was younger, I felt like I was one of the most confident people alive, I didn't care about my looks or what people said, to me, I was beautiful, and nothing else mattered.
Maybe that was a bubble I put myself or maybe I was only there because I was what society would consider "the standard" but, things changed quickly before my eyes when I became a teenager.
When I became a teenager, I kept gaining weight and surely the comments came rushing in "you are not beautiful", "you let yourself go" and so on.
I could remember going to a family event and being called out for my weight in front of everyone, as a young girl, it broke my confidence, and from the most confident, I became the most insecure.
Throughout my uni years, I walked with my head down because I was scared that I wasn't worthy to be seen, and why would I want to hurt the eyes of others.
I think what made it worse was that I didn't let most people realize how insecure I was so, they tried to hit me with words they felt would break me, and break it did.
After a few years, I got into wanting to lose weight, it wasn't their comments but it was something that felt right at that point.
I lost 18kg and you would think things would change but I still got mean comments "you look ugly skinny", " you should gain weight because you look sick'.
I wasn't even skinny but at that point, I realized that people are always going to talk but it was my decision not to let them blind me because, at both spectrums, I was beautiful.
This song reflects what a lot of girls feel, are going through, are craving and I can't lie and say I am not in those shoes sometimes, but all I can say is that there is beauty in diversity and if we all looked the same, it would be a boring world.
I hope that no matter what you are going through, you realize that you are worthy of everything and that you are beautiful.
This is my rendition of this beautiful song and I hope you enjoy it.
Also, special thanks to @almostsober for playing the guitar for me.
She just wants to be, beautiful
She goes, unnoticed she knows, no limits
She craves, attention she praises, an image
She prays to be, sculpted by the sculptor
Oh, she don't see, the light that's shining
Deeper than the eyes can find it
Maybe we have made her blind
So she tries to cover up her pain
And cut her woes away
'Cause covergirls don't cry
After their face is made
But there's a hope that's waiting for you in the dark
You should know you're beautiful just the way you are
And you don't have to change a thing
The world could change its heart
No scars to your beautiful
We're stars and we're beautiful
Oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh
And you don't have to change a thing
The world could change its heart
No scars to your beautiful
We're stars and we're beautiful
She has dreams to be an envy, so she's starving
You know, covergirls eat nothing
She says, beauty is pain and there's beauty in everything
What's a little bit of hunger?
I could go a little while longer, she fades away
She don't see her perfect
She don't understand she's worth it
Or that beauty goes deeper than the surface
Oh-oh, oh-oh
So to all the girls that's hurting
Let me be your mirror
Help you see a little bit clearer
The light that shines within
There's a hope that's waiting for you in the dark
You should know you're beautiful just the way you are
And you don't have to change a thing
The world could change its heart
No scars to your beautiful
We're stars and we're beautiful
Oh-oh-oh-oh, oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
And you don't have to change a thing
The world could change its heart
No scars to your beautiful
We're stars and we're beautiful

Somos estrellas y somos hermosas
Oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh
Y no tienes que cambiar nada
El mundo podría cambiar su corazón
No hay cicatrices en tu belleza
Somos estrellas y somos hermosas
Usted sabe, covergirls comer nada
Somos estrellas y somos hermosas
Oh-oh-oh-oh, oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh
Y no tienes que cambiar nada
El mundo podría cambiar su corazón
No hay cicatrices en tu belleza
Somos estrellas y somos hermosos
