Lo que no fue, no será, el autor de dicha canción fue José Maria Napoleón, y la hizo especialmente para el cantante ya fallecido Jose Jose, en 1978.

También ha sido versionada por otros cantantes, entre ellos Vicente Fernández al estilo de balada ranchera, me inspire con esta canción, ya que cuando estaba en la universidad, me enamore de una muchacha, pero con ella me sentía oprimido y nunca llegue a la plenitud en la relación y con esta letra, al cantarla lograba sentirme mejor y posteriormente logre conseguir la fuerza para terminar con esa historia y acabar con opresión que viví con esa persona durante 2 años.
