Greetings friends of Hive and the community @espavlog, here your friend @karlex77, publishing for the second time in this excellent window, today I want to show you what was my weekend, I was quite busy and best of all sharing with family, and supporting the culture of my State Lara - Venezuela, as hiver, I think it is appropriate to use all possible resources to ensure that family and state traditions can be visualized in many places, either in my country or worldwide, and nothing better than Hive to do it, in the video you will see try to highlight the most significant moments of the activity held during Saturday and Sunday in my house and around the community where I live.
When I tell you that I had a cultural and family weekend, is because since I can remember, my grandmother performed in my mother's house an activity or dance called tamunangue or sones de negro, since it is something that in colonial times was brought by slaves to our lands, this cultural expression is a tradition in the State of Lara, and my grandmother, now deceased, was the one who most promoted this cultural activity throughout the state of Lara, for that reason at the time was declared living cultural heritage.
This activity began on Saturday night with songs called velorio, which is nothing more than prayers with melodies and sung, there is named to God and the patron saint San Antonio, offerings are placed on the altar and a good sancocho is made to give to all the people who attend and musicians, this lasted until about 1 am, from there to sleep all, because Sunday is much busier, because it is the day that the tamunangue is performed and people arrive in large numbers.
The activities begin on Sunday with a mass in thanksgiving on the part of the family, there we listen to the mass and we take breads that are blessed by the father of the church and at the end of the mass they are given to all those present in the temple, as a symbol of prosperity and family union, From there we go out with the images of the saints in procession, from the church to the house, we walk through the main streets of the community and give away the breads that were left to the neediest people, during the procession we do a dance called the battle, which represents a fight with sticks or clubs, as they are known here in Lara.
Thus we move forward until we reach the house and the fireworks are activated, thus giving the signal to the inhabitants that the tamunangue is about to begin, people begin to arrive to see the different dances and to eat the sancocho that we gladly give to all the people who come, the tamunangue as such begins at 12 noon, until 6 pm, when the fireworks now warn that the activity is over, it was an exhausting weekend for so much work done, but satisfactory, because everything went very well, I hope you like the video that I leave here and so you can know something of our culture.
