Saludos amigos, en esta oportunidad compartiré con todos ustedes un pequeño tutorial respecto al trabajo que hago desde HIVE.

Greetings friends, in this opportunity I will share with all of you a little tutorial about the work I do from HIVE.

People who follow my publications may notice that most of them contain music videos in which I like to show the result of some collaborative projects I have done with talented artists.

In the older videos the work was a little easier because it involved recording a live video with another person, and then uploading it to the networks.

Today, in the context of quarantine, social alienation because of the covid19 I have seen the need to make these videos separately, the artist invited from his home, and me from mine, some friends have asked me the steps to make such videos, for that reason I present today:

Las personas que siguen mis publicaciones pueden notar que la mayoría de ellas contienen vídeos musicales en los que me gusta mostrar el resultado de algunos proyectos colaborativos que he realizado con talentosos artistas.
En los vídeos mas antiguos el trabajo era un poco mas sencillo porque comprendía en grabar un vídeo en vivo junto a otra persona, y luego subirlo a las redes.
En la actualidad, en el marco de la cuarentena, distanciamiento social a causa del covid19 me he visto en la necesidad de realizar dichos vídeos por separado, el artista invitado desde su casa, y yo, desde la mía; algunos amigos me han preguntado los pasos para realizar este tipo de vídeos, por tal razón les presento hoy:

PASOS

Se contacta al artista invitado, en este caso tomaré como ejemplo a mi querida amiga y talentosa flautista Ixchel Rivas.

Se selecciona el tema a interpretar, en este caso tomaré como ejemplo la obra "Juliana".

Acuerdan una versión (ritmo, estilo, velocidad, tonalidad entre otras) a interpretar.

Tomando en cuenta lo anterior, se le solicita (si fuera necesario) al músico invitado una particura de la obra a interpretar.

Se exporta el archivo de audio de formato .musx para obtener el formato .wav

STEPS

The guest artist is contacted, in this case I will take as an example my dear friend and talented flutist Ixchel Rivas.

The theme to be interpreted is selected, in this case I will take as an example the work "Juliana".

They agree on a version (rhythm, style, speed, tonality among others) to be performed.

Taking into account the above, the invited musician is asked (if necessary) to play a part of the piece.

The audio file is exported in .musx format to obtain the .wav format

Con ayuda del software FINALE, el anfitrión realiza la transcripción de la obra seleccionada.

With the help of the FINALE software, the host makes the transcription of the selected work.

Se convierte el audio .wav en audio .mp3 para mayor rapidez en la carga y descarga del archivo.

Envío por correo electrónico dicho audio al artista invitado.

Se hace el estudio de la obra a interpretar (por separado) tanto del artista invitado, como mi persona (el anfitrión) para adecuarse a la velocidad de la obra, así como cualquier dinámica específica que se contemple.

Se realiza la grabación (por separado) usando la cámara de un teléfono celular, web cam, vídeo cámara o cualquier dispositivo de captura de imágenes como por ejemplo cámaras fotográficas que tengan dicha función.

El artista invitado envía su vídeo (sin editar) al anfitrión que en este caso será el Editor (mi persona).

Usando un editor de vídeos como el Sony Vegas Pro, se procede a subir y sobreponer el vídeo del artista anfitrión, en un canal distinto al del artista invitado.

The .wav audio is converted into .mp3 audio for faster upload and download of the file.

Sending the audio by e-mail to the guest artist.

The study of the work to be performed (separately) is done both by the guest artist and by myself (the host) to adapt to the speed of the work, as well as any specific dynamics that are contemplated.

Recording is done (separately) using a cell phone camera, web cam, video camera or any image capture device such as cameras that have this function.

The guest artist sends his video (unedited) to the host who in this case will be the Editor (my person).

Using a video editor such as Sony Vegas Pro, the video of the host artist is uploaded and superimposed on a different channel than that of the guest artist.

Con la ayuda del software Sony Vegas Pro (o alguno similar), se realiza la edición de ambos vídeos para compilar ambos de forma sincronizada.

With the help of Sony Vegas Pro software (or similar), the editing of both videos is done to compile both in a synchronized way.

Se realiza una renderización de cada audio por separado y se exporta a mp3 (todo esto en el editor Sony Vegas Pro o sus similares)

Con ayuda del software Adobe Audition (o alguno similar) se realiza una limpieza del audio, se mejora la equalización, se quitan los ruidos de cada track por separado con la ayuda de los plugins que trae por defecto el software de edición a usar.

En Adobe Audition (o cualquier programa de edición de audio) se realiza la mezcla de ambos tracks (canales de audio) para exportar un audio llamado Mixdown que es el sonido que se desea que escuche en el vídeo.

Teniendo listo el audio (mezcla) exportado en .mp3 o .wav se lleva al editor de Vídeos Sony Vegas Pro (o similares) y se debe sincronizar cuidadosamente en el sitio exacto para que cada imagen visual corresponda a cada imagen audible.

Se debe definir el formato de pantalla a usar, ejemplo: cuadrado (1:1), 4:3, 16:9 entre otras.

Es necesario definir también el espacio de la pantalla que corresponda a cada vídeo (invitado/anfitrión)

Se revisan y ajustan los colores e iluminación a través de los plugins (curva de color y brillo/contraste) que los software de edición traen por defecto para su mejora visual.

Having the audio (mix) exported in .mp3 or .wav ready, it is taken to the Sony Vegas Pro video editor (or similar) and must be carefully synchronized in the exact place so that each visual image corresponds to each audio image.

The screen format to be used must be defined, for example: square (1:1), 4:3, 16:9, among others.

It is also necessary to define the space on the screen for each video (guest/host).

The colors and lighting are checked and adjusted through the plugins (color curve and brightness/contrast) that the editing software brings by default for visual improvement.

Se sugiere usar un título al inicio de cada vídeo y en algunos casos se colocan los créditos de autor de la obra original así como los créditos de los interpretes de dicho cover para vídeo.

Se colocan los logos, si fuera preciso o alguna información adicional que debiere llevar dicho vídeo.

Se realiza una revisión completa del vídeo con ayuda de la vista previa, para verificar que todo esté en el tiempo y lugar correcto.

It is suggested to use a title at the beginning of each video and in some cases the author's credits of the original work are placed as well as the credits of the performers of that cover for video.

The logos are placed, if necessary, or some additional information that the video should have.

A complete review of the video is done with the help of the preview, to verify that everything is in the right place and at the right time.

Se agregan transiciones entre clips (si fuera necesario) así como los efectos que el editor considere sumar como por ejemplo fade-in (aparecer lentamente) fade-out (desaparecer lentamente).

Se da inicio al renderizado: es un proceso automatizado que realiza el programa, en el que hace la mezcla de sonido y vídeo para exportar un solo archivo que puede tener formato .mp4, mpeg2, mov entre otros.

Transitions are added between clips (if necessary) as well as any effects that the editor might consider adding, such as fade-in (appearing slowly) or fade-out (disappearing slowly).

Rendering starts: it is an automated process that the program performs, in which it makes the mixing of sound and video to export a single file that can have format .mp4, mpeg2, mov among others.

El tiempo de dicho proceso dependerá de los recursos de la PC que se está utilizando así como la calidad de vídeo que queremos que muestre, los mas comunes son Internet 360 panoramico, y HD 1080p. En este ejemplo que presetamos el día de hoy, el fragmento de vídeo era de 20 segundos, y el tiempo de renderizado fue de 2 minutos, con base en eso podemos calcular el tiempo que tomaría renderizar un vídeo mas grande.

The time of this process will depend on the resources of the PC that is being used as well as the quality of video that we want to show, the most common are Internet 360 panoramic, and HD 1080p. In this example that we gave today, the video fragment was 20 seconds, and the time of rendering was 2 minutes, based on that we can calculate the time that would take to render a longer video.
