There's stillness in the sound of the waves crashing into the stones on a shore, the sound of birds flying over, and the muted chattering of people around that's relaxing, like white noise, it brings a different kind of rest.
I guess that's the reason why some people favor stopping by in the coastal area in the afternoon - watch the peace that the sea waves bring, breath the salted air or perhaps simply observe random people swimming, or maybe they are waiting for someone, to converge friends so together they look into the calm fishermen dropping their nets for a hope of a good catch. Surely, some couple lovers can find time to get to know more of each other, and families as well can spend quality time.
Regardless of the reason, the pandemic has made it almost challenging for other people to enjoy such activity. In Guindulman, this coastal town has allowed people to go out but to observe social distancing and wearing of masks. I took these clips to document the few who braved to get out of their houses and somehow experience their usual afternoons. I believe things will never be the same, we will continue to wear these masks but at the same time, I am hopeful for a better, brighter, healthier tomorrow. And soon, more Guindulmanons and even for the rest of the world to enjoy their normal afternoons again.
These clips were taken with Sony a7iii, edited in Adobe Premiere.
