La canción que les interpreto en esta ocasión trae consigo una fuerte carga emocional en muchos aspectos, personalmente me trae el recuerdo de un gran amigo que ya no está entre nosotros desde hace un par de años, y a quien ya le he rendido homenaje en otras pulicaciones, ya que fué una de las personas que más me influenció como músico, él era un gran fan de Metallica y le gustaba mucho esta canción, quizá porque se sentía identificado con la letra y el mensaje, ya que esta canción está inspirada en la temprana pérdida que sufrió James Hetfield (cantante y guitarrista de Metallica) de su madre, y mi amigo también tuvo el infortunio de perder a su mamá debido a una enfermedad. La atmósfera melancólica y profunda de este tema me asorbió al escucharlo hace unos días así que decidí aprenderla y grabarla para Hive.

Personally, it brings back the memory of a great friend who has not been with us for a couple of years, and to whom I have already paid tribute in other publications. Since he was one of the people who influenced me the most as a musician, he was a big fan of Metallica and he really liked this song, perhaps because he felt identified with the lyrics and the message, since this song is inspired by the early James Hetfield (Metallica singer and guitarist) suffered loss of his mother, and my friend also had the misfortune to lose his mother due to illness. The melancholic and deep atmosphere of this song engulfed me when I heard it a few days ago, so I decided to learn it and record it for Hive.

"Mama Said" está en el álbum "Load" de la banda Norteamericana, y a pesar de que éste fue en su momento duramente criticado (al igual que su sucesor "Reload") por los fans y la prensa, ya que constituía un cambio en el estilo de la banda hacia una música más "suave", con el tiempo ganaron aceptación y algunas de sus canciones cómo "Fuel" se convirtieron en grandes éxitos. Desde mi perspectiva son álbumes muy buenos a nivel musical, pero son especiales porque muestran un lado más personal y sensible de la banda, un buen ejemplo es esta canción que comparto hoy con ustedes.
