    About :

Good day to you fellow travelers of our fine planet, today I want to share with you my recent exploration of the south Cape coast of Africa in the most beautiful area of the Cape, called the Garden Route. It's also known as the Eden District, curiously enough. You can get the idea then, that this is a place that has been likened to the Garden of Eden of biblical times. What an honor to receive such an accolade.

The pure natural surroundings here on the southernmost coast of Africa are really inspiring, and in this video taken some days back on my exploration of the coastline, I I show one of the epic favorite places. This river is a real source of survival in this remote region. One could easily live here, cooking on a fire and drinking the rainwater. Baboons roam around the area, so we need to be aware of them. Yet this cliff side view is majestic and epic for the viewer. It really facilitates meditation and I find peace and tranquility just sitting by this little river and pool. The sound of the flowing stream as well as the sanctuary of the fresh water, are all very comforting and protecting.

I was able to climb down the hill slopes to this halfway point on the cliff side and find a good seat for my meditation. The view is panoramic and there are no people about. At most there may be the odd fisherman passing by on their way down to the shore below. They have permits to fish for subsistence here, even when the public are banned from the beaches during lockdown.

I made my way to this remote place without seeing anyone so I am getting a glimpse of the hidden regions of the Cape coastline while everyone else is under lockdown, or simply not adventurous enough to roam this far along the cliffs. I have been going out of my way to stay our of the way, so to speak. Here I can find some social distancing, as they like to call it nowadays, and commune with nature in all her beauty.

These African shorelines, especially down south in the temperate climate at about 34 degrees south latitude, are simply sublime. The beauty and inspiration is just one benefit from being here. The distance from anyone now suddenly appears a real blessing, with the pandemic spreading so far and wide. I plan to make this my bug out place lol. If there is a need to get some distance, then this is the perfect region for it. I can take shelter of the caves nearby and collect the eater required to sustain myself, while making a fire to cook my rice and lentils.

Life in the bush can be a good way to reconnect with nature and the planet, from which we have become a little removed when in our concrete towers or boxes. We seldom touch the bare earth with our feet nowadays, which may be a health bonus.

Just below me on this cliff side, is the Indian Ocean, teeming with marine life, including seals from the colony nearby, as well as fish, sharks and now whales, since it’s breeding season and they flock here to have calves. In coming videos I will bring you more footage of the beaches and whale sightings, if they arise. We may be traveling less still, as a result of the pandemic and lockdown of the borders, but in this video clip you can get a glimpse of life on the edge, life in the wild, amongst the exotic elements of this distant landscape at the edge of the world.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and some may prefer the shelter of the big city, with all its facilities, but I recommend the open expanses of nature for good health and peace of mind as well as the space to meditate and gain inspiration during these challenging times on the planet. I will post more clips of my explorations on the epic African cliffs and shoreline in coming days, so stay tuned.
