On my personal mountain I enjoy exercising because there is more to the journey than just the muscles of the body being activated. I bathe in vitamin D in the sun and contemplate the nature around me. Every now and then I hear the birds singing and the occasional squirrel or sloth in the trees, what more could I ask for in my personal gym! Oh I know, my personal cameraman who accompanies me from the door of my home for the 2.4 km of the route.
Jogging activates many other areas of the body besides the muscles we all know, especially the respiratory and circulatory systems. Our lungs and heart will be grateful for this exercise that will get them in shape also when done on a regular basis.
For those who wish to start doing this activity, I suggest that at the beginning you take half hour walks and if there are steep sections, much better. For those who are overweight or suffer from a knee condition it is not advisable to jog even on flat terrain, so it is essential to lose weight and treat the condition first. Another very important recommendation is to avoid jogging when the stretch is downhill to avoid major injuries to the knee joints.
• Controls diabetes and hypertension
• Loses weight without loss of muscle mass
• Strengthens bones and joints
• Helps to tone and strengthen the muscles of both the upper and lower body
• Helps to balance the state of mind and therefore reduces stress
• Avoids diseases such as stroke because it improves blood flow
• It strengthens lungs and improves breathing
Every time I finish this exercise I experience a liberating and renewing sensation that translates into the joy of having accomplished the goal despite the circumstances. It is at that moment when the well-known hormones of happiness that we secrete when we exercise, feel good and have accomplished goals are activated, mainly serotonin, dopamine and endorphin.
So, dear friends, don't keep wasting your time sitting on the couch and get active by engaging in physical activity.
I will never tire of saying it, doing any exercise is a wonderful contribution that we offer to our being, it is exercise, life and health as my slogan says.
• Control your breathing as you inhale and exhale. Try to contract your abdomen as long as you can.
• Jog at your own pace. Enjoy what you are doing. Think of it as a walk.
• Hydrate yourself
• It's an intense workout because of the climbs. -Excite yourself! -
• We work the quadriceps, hamstrings, femorals, glutes and abs.
• At the end, you can have a protein shake, if you don't have one, make it with a protein shake, oatmeal and peanut butter.
• A towel
• Comfortable, sturdy running shoes
• Comfortable running clothes
• Try to jog early before 10:00 am or after 3:30 pm when the sunlight is not so strong and damaging
• Water for hydration
• Snacks
• Sunglasses (optional)
• Hat and sunscreen to protect your skin
• And most importantly, the desire to exercise.
1 • Lying on your back on the mat, place your arms extended over your head and raise your legs as shown in the picture.
2 • With the help of your arms, raise your torso to one side.
Then return to the starting position and with the help of your arms, raise your torso to the other side. This is one repetition.
We do 20 repetitions
1 • Standing with your back straight in front of the mat. Feet apart no more than shoulder width apart. Proceed to place hands on the mat and toes on the floor. The body should be straight. Contract the abdomen.
2 • Then keeping the position with the right hand we touch the shoulder.
3 • Then touch the left shoulder. This is one repetition.
We do 20 repetitions
1 •Kneel in a quadruped position on the mat. Keep your back straight. Contract the abdomen.
2 • Keeping the position, only raise your knees a few inches off the floor. At all times contract the abdomen.
In this position we wait 1 minute.
