Today I have the pleasure to present a gameplay of the game Napoleon Total War, this game of 2011 presents us with the possibility of playing historical battles, in this case important battles of the emperor Napoleon Bonaparte. In each publication I will present a small historical review of each battle recreated in the gameplay, its historical context and its consequences in the war where France faced a coalition of countries fighting for the total supremacy of the European continent. I will try to recreate Napoleon's most famous battles until the iconic Battle of Waterloo.
After the victory in the Battle of Lodi, the French army advances towards the north of Italy, which is the scene of our next historical battle represented in the gampley against the powerful Austrian empire, the battle of Alcore.
The French troops to dominate the area of Lombardy had to specifically cross the bridge of Alcore in northern Italy. Bridge protected by a powerful artillery fire which achieved the retreat in several occasions of the French soldiers to wait for reinforcements to secure the bridge.
After several attempts by the French troops, the battalions of reinforcements arrive, among them those commanded by the young general Napoleon Bonaparte. In his first attempt to take the bridge, Bonaparte tries a risky maneuver with the courage that characterized him, the story goes that he with the French flag in his hands was leading the French troops against artillery fire, a huge risk to his life. In the middle of this artillery attack of the Austrian army against the French, Jean-Baptiste Muiron, Napoleon's assistant, died. He used his body as a shield to protect his commander, making him retreat again.
The next day Napoleon uses a strategy of distraction by ordering the sound of drums and trumpets in the rear of the enemy troops, making as much noise as possible to disrupt the defense of the enemy army, which happens as planned by Napoleon. This important victory consolidates the French army in the region of Lombardy, in the north of Italy, another new victory thanks to the cunning of the young general who commands the troops in Italy.

In this battle it can be seen that the Austrian forces are completely divided, firstly into two groups, but when they try to concentrate the main body with the troops from the west, they become even more disorganized.
Because the bridge is protected by artillery it was necessary to destroy the cannons first before ordering the troops to approach the bridge, they only had one artillery battalion, order the bombardment until that battalion was completely destroyed.
I sent the bulk of the army against the divided troops and managed to wipe out several widely separated battalions in the swamp, while at the same time I was able to eliminate one of the two enemy generals within the battlefield.
By decimating their forces in the swamp before they reached the bridge, I obtained a strategic superiority considering that my artillery had successfully bombarded the enemy's cannons leaving them unusable. Because my army still possessed great artillery firepower, I waited to order my cannons right in front of the target bridge.
After making a quick bombardment I ran out of ammunition for the cannons, which consequently ordered the dangerous bridge crossing with the whole army, something strategically very dangerous, in fact for a moment the Austrian forces surrounded my troops causing my advantage in numbers to be largely lost, however, I was able to defeat the forces that offered resistance at the bridge crossing thus destroying the whole Austrian army on the battlefield, concluding a tight victory again like the last battle.
It is important to emphasize that according to the battlefield, the playing conditions have a significant importance in the troops, in this case the artillery was vital to win the game, on the other hand in the previous gameplay in the battle of Lodi, the cavalry in my opinion was the one that had a greater strategic importance within the battlefield.
