It was a Counterspell ruleset, normally I would shy away from using Magic cards but in this battle, I decided to ignore the Magic Reflect impact and so was my opponent as we sort out our differences the magic way.
There were two game-changing cards on the battlefield, for me, it was DJINN OSHANNUS and for my opponent, it was KRON THE UNDYING for the Heal ability it has.
Let's find out how it panned out.
Opponent's Summoner | Element | Ability |
---|---|---|
OBSIDIAN | Earth | +1 Magic |
My Summoner | Element | Ability |

CAMILA SUNGAZER | Dragon | -1 Melee |

With my decision to fight with Magic, I need a Void ability monster, that can take hits and remain solid in the frontline, DJINN OSHANNUS was the one to provide such capability and in addition, the Void ability is Phase, high speed, and rich in Health.
With such power DJINN OSHANNUS fought till the end and came out the least monster to receive damage from the enemy.
I personally everyone should own TIDE BITER, this card is a little beast fast with melee damage of 2 from level 2, and with some Inspire ability it becomes deadly with Reach ability in the second spot.
DHAMPIR INFILTRATOR is a nuisance you don't want it having free movement at your backline, it has been a great force to have added to my deck. It occupies the third spot with Sneak and Double Strike abilities.
The Inspire and Resurrect abilities of RIVER HELLONDALE bring a powerful strength to my lineup especially the Inspire ability for the melee monsters. Both of those abilities at level 2 for RIVER HELLONDALE make it a must-have at level 2 at least.
I like to be offensive on the battlefield without ignoring to be defensive as well. VENARI WAVESMITH brings the defense capability to my lineup with Protect ability giving +2 Armor to friendly monsters.
In the backline is AGOR LONGTAIL with Taunt, Flight, and Void Armor abilities. It is a beast that needs no introduction since its launch from the Riftwatchers edition. AGOR for me is to pull attention away from my attacking monsters and by the time the focus is on AGOR, the damage is done on the opponent and it works like a charm in most cases.
It was a Counterspell with magic attacks flying all over the place.
