    ENGLISH:

It is vitally important for professional musicians to make a good impression in front of colleagues, whatever their branch (instrumentalists, producers, arrangers, mixing or sound engineers), therefore it is not enough just to be professional and have a high musical level . It is necessary to understand that before being musicians we are people, so in this post I will cover a little the personal and musical aspects to have a good recording session.

    1 Arrive on time:

It is of the utmost importance and will speak highly of your professional and personal ethics that you always arrive on time to your recording guidelines, thus saving your colleagues time or simply not delaying work.

    2: Stress-free and relaxed mind:

This is one of the aspects or one of my recommendations that I can emphasize the most, and that is that a fresh mind is everything, it is important to remember that our brain is the one who controls our hands, the clarity in which we listen, how we process the information that we must understand to translate into the song according to the demands of the producer, a good reading is also based on having a fresh mind, so I consider this point to be one of the most important in the post.

3 Learn to hear and feel:

Without a doubt, it is necessary to have the ability and the criteria to listen to what the producer can tell us, take the ideas or what is already expressed, it must be assumed with great maturity and not refute or speak disparagingly of what sounds in his head It is also important to you to feel what we are playing, what is being recorded, why? Because simply the INTENTION with which we play at that moment, will be captured, and the listener will perceive it.

    4 Practice with the Metronome:

ESSENTIAL that everything we practice at home is with the metronome, from slow speeds to the fastest, when we make this a habit when going to the studio we will be well attached to the beat, we will save time in recording and editing, actually this is the number one principle for any musician, especially bassists.

    5 Contribute:

I always emphasize this point because for me it is vitally important that a recording musician has the ability to contribute, perhaps not something to the arrangement in general, but something to what is the execution of his instument within the song or theme.

This will simply show the producer that you are not a musician who plays what is on a sheet music, what he can record for you in a midi guide, or what he can hum to you with his voice. This will make him understand that you have the ability, dexterity or ability to create something within HIS IDEAS and his CRITERIA.

I hope this post has been to your liking.

    #3 Aprender a oír y a sentir:
