I love going to test basses, configure and extract sounds from the different models, analyze the behavior of the wood, the type of strings and identify if it is suitable for recording and that it could be recorded with x instrument.

Here I present a Steinberg xt-25, 5 strings, without a doubt one of the basses that I always wanted to try, I recently realized that a friend had one inside his garage, so I went to test it and see how the question of the Tuning since it is Headless, that is, it does not have a headstock, it is tuned by the bridge.

One of the things that impressed me the most was that it is quite light, both the neck and the body are made of Maple, it has jumbo frets which makes you feel like you are playing a normal bass.

In my city I have seen many bassists who are dedicated to the genre of vallenato play with these basses, and the truth is that I already understand why, and that is that it has very good definition in its midrange, and in its treble, the action of the neck. it is quite good, the strings are quite close together and the instrument could almost be played on its own.

I have also seen those who modify the microphones and put some of the EMG brand, for a heavier sound, highlighting even more its highs and lows, it would undoubtedly be a perfect bass to rock.

Me encanta ir a probar bajos, configurar y sacarles sonidos a los diferentes modelos, analizar el comportamiento de la madera, el tipo de cuerdas e identificar si esta apto para grabar y que se podría grabar con x instrumento.

Aquí les presento un Steinberg xt-25, 5 cuerdas, sin duda uno de los bajos que siempre quise probar, hace poco me di cuenta que un amigo tenía uno dentro de su garaje, así que fui a probarlo y ver como funcionaba la cuestión de la afinación puesto que es Headless, es decir, no tiene clavijero, se afina por el puente.

Una de las cosas que más me impresionó fue que es bastante liviano, tanto el mástil como el cuerpo son hecho de Arce, cuenta con trastes de medida jumbo lo cual hace que sientas que estás tocando un bajo normal.

En mi ciudad he visto a mucho bajistas que se dedican al género del vallenato tocar con estos bajos, y la verdad es que ya entiendo la razón, y es que tiene muy buena definición en sus medios, y en sus agudos, la acción del mástil es bastante buena, las cuerdas quedan bastante pegadas y casi que el instrumento podría tocarse solo.

También he visto quienes modifican los micrófonos y le colocan unos de la marca EMG, para un sonido más pesado, resaltado aún más sus agudos y sus bajos, sin duda sería un bajo perfecto para rockear.
