@josediccus reiterated that it might be due to the inability to seek within the crypto space to check worthwhile projects. He feels it's premeditated ignorance and that these people choose to be Bitcoin maximalists because they feel that no other project or coin would cut it.
He further went on to emphasize how other projects have brought in adoption and new money. @joetunex believed that we have so many scam projects in crypto and some of these maximalists know this, hence they focus their attention on Bitcoin as it's believed to be the alpha crypto, infallible, and always reliable.
We generally went on to agree that while Bitcoin Maximalism isn't bad, we feel it limits the entire crypto space, taking the shine off great projects that might contribute to the adoption of crypto.
Generally, we feel Bitcoin comes will limited utility aside from highs and lows, and that Crypto is evolving past this concept, hence Bitcoin Maximalists taking the time to educate or influence their audience about good alternative projects will promote Cryptocurrency in the long run and not just Bitcoin alone.
