    Letra

    Me fuiste acostumbrando

    Me fuiste acostumbrando

    Y ahora estoy bailando (bailando)
    Sonriendo (sonriendo)
    Silbando
    Nadie me está jodiendo

    Me aumentaron el sueldo
    Canto cuando me baño
    No hay otoño ni invierno
    Primavera to’ el año

    Saludo a los vecinos
Ya no hay perros que ladren
Desde que tú te has ido
Me ha ido de puta madre

Qué bien me va, me va, me va
Desde que tú te has ido
Qué bien me va, me va, me va

    Y ahora estoy bailando (bailando)
    Ay, sonriendo (sonriendo)
    Silbando
    Nadie me está jodiendo

    Me aumentaron el sueldo
    Canto cuando me baño
    No hay otoño ni invierno
    Primavera to’ el año

    Saludo a los vecinos
    Toa’ las puertas se abren
Desde que tú te has ido
Me ha ido de puta madre

Qué bien me va, me va, me va
Desde que tú te has ido
Qué bien me va, me va, me va
Desde que tú te has ido.

    Hive Open Mic WEEK 137 / DPM / Cover @jetta.amaya (Spanish/English)

Loving greetings to all my Hive friends, once again I find myself sharing with you in this open mic. This week's topic is a very special one for me, as it happens to have to do with two very special dates that I celebrate and commemorate over the course of this week.

Thursday, November 24 is my birthday, like Walt Whitman I celebrate and sing to myself, I think about how many things I have had to heal to be where I am and feel as good as I do at 50 years old. The second date is Friday, November 25, International Day for the Eradication of Violence against Women, how can we not talk about healing on a date like this? In the world thousands of women are murdered every year for gender reasons, others suffer violence every day in their homes or in their jobs.

This post is dedicated to all of us, because all of us without a doubt and without exception have had to face situations of violence and machismo at least once in our lives. But above all it is dedicated to women who have been victims of systematic violence, because I know firsthand that you don't get out of a cycle of violence well, that it takes years to recover your life and your mental and emotional health. Hopefully the authorities will penalize the actions of the aggressors, but who measures the psycho/emotional cost of the survivors of violence? It is up to us to heal, to be reborn and for this we need to be together. We need to learn to take care of ourselves and to take care of each other.

For all of the above, I chose the song "De pxta madre" by Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Kany Garcia for this week. This song is wonderful because it tells the story of a woman who healed after a long time of being used to pain. It tells us explicitly that it is possible to get out of painful and toxic relationships, that it is possible to heal and be happy again.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

    Lyrics

    You got me used to
To the coffee in the morning always tasting bitter
That the rainy days would be long for us
You made black everything that was white

You got me used to it
To arguing over silly things that didn't matter
That even if I was right, I gave it to you anyway
That roses are just thorns that stick in you

    And now I'm dancing (dancing)
    Smiling (smiling)
    Whistling
    No one's fucking with me

    I got a raise
    I sing when I take a bath
    There's no autumn or winter
    Spring all year round

    I greet the neighbors
    No barking dogs anymore
    Since you've been gone
    I've been doing great

I'm doing fine, I'm doing fine, I'm doing fine
    Since you've been gone
I'm doing fine, I'm doing fine, I'm doing fine, I'm doing fine
    Since you've been gone

The phone rings and it won't stop
Today I have so many plans for the weekend
    Friends who left, come back
Closing every wound, opening a beer

    The mirror tells me: Beautiful!
    You're in your best stage
Oh, love yourself, shake it off
That the bad thing is a TBT

    And now I'm dancing (dancing)
    Oh, smiling (smiling)
    Whistling
    Nobody's fucking with me

    I got a raise
    I sing when I take a bath
    There's no autumn or winter
    Spring all year round

    I greet the neighbors
    All the doors open
    Since you've been gone
    I've been doing great

I'm doing fine, I'm doing fine, I'm doing fine
    Since you've been gone
I'm doing great, I'm doing great, I'm doing great, I'm doing great
    Since you've been gone.
