Me transformó tu partida
Me transformó tu partida
Me transformó tu partida

Hive Open Mic WEEK 134 / New Lies / Cover @jetta.amaya (Spanish/English)
A loving greeting to all my Hive friends, one more week in the musical sharing of Open Mic. This week the theme is Forgiveness, I find it very interesting because for me this has always been a very abstract concept, at present I refuse to believe that forgiveness exists, as I feel it is a mostly religious idea. However, I have replaced forgiveness with values that are more important to me, for example, empathy.
I believe that understanding others allows us to heal and let go of the bad things that have been done to us. Understanding that everyone has their circumstances, their reasons, their pains and their resentments; understanding helps us to let go, because we do not stay in anger or in pain wondering why. The most wonderful thing about this way I chose to deal with situations is that I exercise my ability to be resilient.
I am convinced that forgiveness is not enough, we have to understand each other and we have to heal without forcing the processes. For this reason, I chose a wonderful song of the beautiful Puerto Rican Kany Garcia, "Nuevas mentiras" from the album "Mesa para dos" is undoubtedly one of my favorite songs of the composer, in my opinion perfectly describes a process of resilience. Among the images found in this beautiful lyric, the protagonist of the story imagines herself on the couch and manages to ask for forgiveness from the person she hurt, she also imagines how the other person asks for forgiveness from her. The truth is that we do not always have the opportunity to ask for forgiveness or to receive it, sometimes it remains a sad yearning, which never comes; but life goes on and we must accept it.
I hope you enjoy this beautiful song as much as I do.
Lyrics
The good things stay in the years and get stronger
And I forget about all the hurt that was present
Your look accompanied by a laugh so engraved in my armchair
I asked for forgiveness
And why do I say no if yes?
I still think of you
In a memory, a phrase
In old papers, in new lies
Why do I say no if yes?
I was transformed by your departure
That it doesn't matter what happens
You go down the sidewalk on another avenue
And I don't stay waiting for my luck to change
I prefer to learn from the damage and be different
I'm cleaning the wounds
I imagine you on this day in my armchair
You ask for forgiveness
Why do I say no if I do?
I think of you still
In a memory, a phrase
In old papers, in new lies
Why do I say no if yes?
I was transformed by your departure
That it doesn't matter what happens
You go down the sidewalk on another avenue
And in my silences I would talk to you and you would answer
And we were so much that today I regret not being nothing
Why do I say no if yes?
I still think of you
In a memory, a phrase
In old papers, in new lies
Why do I say no if yes?
I was transformed by your departure
That it doesn't matter what happens
You go down the sidewalk on another avenue.
