Aire contaminado Hoy ha ocurrido un percance en una carretera interestatal que pasa fuera junto al pueblo en donde vivo. Una tubería que transporta crudo ha tenido una fuga y ahora se está quemando, despidiendo una gran cantidad de humo negro. Ya son aproximadamente cuatro horas desde el inicio de este accidente y si bien la autoridades están luchando por controlar todo ya es el segundo incendio en la misma tubería a diferentes alturas en poco menos de dos meses. La falta de mantenimiento de esta tubería junto a una carretera ahora nos deja con unas inmensas nubes de humo que dejan caer contaminación sobre kilómetros a la redonda y que en los próximos días dejaran caer sobre nosotros una lluvia acida de la que quizá no nos percatemos pero que tendrá su efecto negativo. Solo esperamos que toda esta situación se solvente pronto porque desde que empezó la explotación petrolera en la que el pueblo se vio rodeado de más de 10 torres de perforación. La niebla en las mañanas desapareció, las lluvias frescas de verano desaparecieron, las brisas frescas en medio del calor desaparecieron. Todo cambio, y la contaminación se extendió por los cielos nocturnos que se ven en todo momento iluminados de un color naranja marciano causado por las chimeneas en donde queman gas natural día y noche sin pausa. Entonces… Esta es una canción de protesta, contra el gigante al que el mundo se aferra. El petróleo.

Everything changed, and the pollution spread through the night skies that are always illuminated in a Martian orange color caused by the chimneys where they burn natural gas day and night without pause.
