Greetings dear friends of the SWC community, I am
@jesusaguilarvz Here I leave a post dedicated to a routine for abdominal activation, the truth is that I know few athletes who do not do routines for abdominal activation before training and do not know the benefits that this has in your training, I hope you like the post and read the explanation in detail and it can help you train.
The exercise of the abdominal muscles has been the subject of great debate for many years, not only in relation to the correct way to perform the exercises but also in relation to muscular participation. This post is based on a review and anatomical description of the abdominal muscles, their function, applied to different actions such as walking, running, etc. and when performing the most commonly applied exercises to train it. I have reviewed many books and investigations that have analyzed the differentiated participation of the abdominals and the hip musculature, when executing different exercises, using and without using implements. The importance of strengthening the abdominal muscles to maintain the required levels of strength and resistance, and to help maintain balance and stabilization of the spine, is highlighted, and not as an effective means to reduce or control body weight. The systematic performance of trunk flexion exercises with wide ranges of motion, without holding or blocking the lower limbs, and maintaining 45º and 90º hip and knee flexion, respectively, seems to be an effective way to train the abdominal muscles.
Necesidad de fuerza y resistencia abdominal | Need for abdominal strength and endurance |
Although there is no consensus regarding the level of strength that the abdominals should reach, during various types of actions, it is accepted that these should not produce extreme values, but should maintain submaximal levels for long periods of time. Some authors have stated that the level of tension to which the abdominals must be subjected to effectively fulfill their stabilizing function should not be higher than 2%; 3% or maximum 6 to 7% of their maximum isometric strength " (Koch, 1994 Tayson, 1997) " Therefore, although the abdominals must be fundamentally resistant, it must also be considered that they must have an adequate level of maximum strength, based on which they can develop the ability to resist for as long as possible the levels of tension to which they are subjected during various actions.
Why is it so important to do abs before exercising
