HIVE MUSIC FESTIVAL Week 21 Third Round (ENG-ESP): "Millie The Best Fat Piggie in Town!" (Original)

Hello everybody on HIVE, and especially the Music Zone Community. My name is Jasper and I'm writing (and singing) to you from Cape Town in South Africa! Welcome to Week 21 / Round 3 of the Hive Music Festival! I have only done original songs so far for the Hive Music Festival, and I’m going to do another one today!

However, I have looked through some of my recent entries over the last couple of weeks, and I see that they have been quite serious or sad, so I thought today we could lighten the mood with a bit of a funnier song with a cute story behind it…

The song I want to play for you this week is called “Millie, The Best Fat Piggie in Town”.

**THE STORY: **

About 10 years ago, my wife and I used to live in a garden cottage on a large property in the more rural Deep South part of the Cape Town Peninsula. We became good friends with the couple who were living in the other small garden cottage on the property. They knew our neighbours up the road, who had a large enough property to have stables with a couple of horses in them. For some reason, these neighbours up the road also had a massive pet pig called Millie as a pet.

Millie just kept getting fatter, because apparently after eating her own food she would wander off to steal from the horses! We heard through the neighbourhood grapevine that the father of this family was threatening his wife and kids that Millie was getting too fat, and if the trend couldn't be halted, and if Millie's big belly actually reached the ground in-between her stumpy legs, then it would be time to cook Millie in the oven!

So, I decided to write this song to plead for Millie's life. Our mutual friends from the other garden cottage on our property landed up sending it to the neighbours in question, and apparently it worked and Millie was allowed to live to a ripe old age!!! That is one pig’s life I have saved!

LA HISTORIA:

Hace aproximadamente 10 años, mi esposa y yo solíamos vivir en una cabaña con jardín en una gran propiedad en la parte más rural del sur profundo de la península de Ciudad del Cabo. Nos hicimos buenos amigos de la pareja que vivía en la otra pequeña cabaña con jardín de la propiedad. Conocían a nuestros vecinos en el camino, que tenían una propiedad lo suficientemente grande como para tener establos con un par de caballos en ellos. Por alguna razón, estos vecinos en el camino también tenían un enorme cerdo llamado Millie como mascota.

¡Millie seguía engordando, porque aparentemente después de comer su propia comida, salía a robar a los caballos! Escuchamos a través de la vid del vecindario que el padre de esta familia estaba amenazando a su esposa e hijos con que Millie estaba engordando demasiado, y si la tendencia no podía detenerse, y si la gran barriga de Millie realmente llegaba al suelo entre sus piernas rechonchas. , ¡entonces sería hora de cocinar a Millie en el horno!
