SONG REQUEST 50% HP Challenge Week 8! - Winner: @anna-newkey (Duet with @clairemobey)

Hello everybody on HIVE, and especially the Music Community. My name is Jasper and I'm writing (and singing) to you from Cape Town, South Africa!

I have decided to start a challenging series of posts! BUT I Need your Help!

This is the challenge I'm setting myself every week: I ask for cover song requests on the MUSIC community, and then pick a favourite song to learn and post a live video of me attempting it. The person who asked for the winning song then gets 50% of the post rewards in HP!

I finally got to see my friend @clairemobey this week. She's the person that I usually perform in public with. We are both songwriters, and so we have a funny habit of singing covers with "cover hats" on, so that the audience knows when we are not wearing hats that the song is an original! We have carried that tradition over to our HIVE videos now!

Claire and I met up to talk about the next couple of gigs we would like to try and organise, and I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to do a song that @anna-newkey has requested in the past, but is much better suited to a duo performance!

I am talking about "Shallow", the song performed by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper in the most recent version of the movie "A Star is Born"! Did you know there have been four versions of the movie now? The original was in 1937, the 1954 version starred Judy Garland and James Mason, and the 1976 version starred Kris Kristofferson and Barbara Streisand! So a lot of musical star power over the years, and quite a challenge to decide to be the face of the current generation!

But it was a fantastic movie with some fantastic songs, including "Always Remember us this Way" and today's song "Shallow". Even my parents admitted that it was a better movie than the previous that starred musicians from their era! Haha!

I also distinctly remember their live performance at the Oscars ceremony, where people found it very hard to believe that the chemistry between Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper was just acting... shoowee (what do you think?)
