MUSIC: Three Tune Tuesday 73 - 3 Songs About

Hello everybody on HIVE, and especially the Music Community. My name is Jasper and I'm writing (and singing) to you from Cape Town, South Africa.

This is my eighth week contributing to "Three Tunes Tuesday", started by @ablaze. It is week 73 overall!

I am trying to stick to a set pattern, where I perform 2 cover songs (written by famous artists) and 1 original song (written by me) around a theme. This week I've chosen the theme of "Going Home"!

Obviously old classics like "Country Roads" and "Sweet Home Alabama" would have been fun ones to do, but I thought for the first song I would keep it country, but a little less cliche! Apparently the first song is actually something that Bob Dylan started to write, but with Bob's blessing, a band called Old Crow Medicine Show finished it. This first song is called "Wagon Wheel":

Darius Rucker (from Hootie and the Blowfish) has also sung this song, and I see he has about 4 times the views of the original on Youtube so here is his version. Which do you prefer?:

For the next song I covered, I went back to my teenage years where I stole the Collective Soul cd from my older sister, and played it to death. I think "Reunion" is the quieter, more unplugged number that ends the CD:

Finally, my own song is called "Southbound Plane". I have lived in a pretty ugly factory town before, and this song describes how I felt when I knew I was finally coming home to beautiful Cape Town with its beautiful beaches, vineyards and mountains!
