Hello everybody on Hive and especially the Hive Open Mic Community! My name is Jasper and I'm writing (and singing) to you from Cape Town in South Africa! Welcome to Week 157 of the Hive Open Mic Challenge. The theme for the week is “Al Dios Que Adoramos”! An English translation is roughly "To the God we Worship" or "To the God we Adore".

I thought that I had done most of the songs I know well that are worship songs that praise the Lord, but then I remembered a fantastic house song that became a big mainstream hit on the radio here in South Africa back in 2019. It was by Kygo, who used vocals by the late Whitney Houston that had been recorded in 1990.

However, the song that Whitney Houston was singing back in 1990 was actually a cover. True credit for this fantastic song apparently belongs to Steve Winwood, who first released "Higher Love" back in 1986.

Bienvenidos a la Semana 157 del Hive Open Mic Challenge. ¡El tema de la semana es “Al Dios Que Adoramos”! Una traducción al inglés es aproximadamente "Al Dios que adoramos" o "Al Dios que adoramos".

Pensé que había hecho la mayoría de las canciones que conozco bien que son canciones de adoración que alaban al Señor, pero luego recordé una canción house fantástica que se convirtió en un gran éxito en la radio aquí en Sudáfrica en 2019. Fue por Kygo, quien usó la voz de la difunta Whitney Houston que había sido grabada en 1990.
