HIVE MUSIC FESTIVAL Week 5 Second Round (ENG-ESP): "Southbound Plane" (Original)

Hello everybody on HIVE, and especially the Music Community. My name is Jasper and I'm writing (and singing) to you from Cape Town, South Africa!

Welcome to Week 5 / Round 2 of the Hive Music Festival! A massive thank you to @edwardstobia for keeping the Hive Music Festival going! It is a great platform for somebody like me to share some music!

I am going to continue to use this opportunity to share my own original songs! (I love playing covers, but I have HIVE Open Mic, Three Tunes Tuesday (I play them myself), and my own initiative where I take cover requests on Thursdays to do that, so please follow me to see if you’d like to see me tackle songs by other artists?)

In the first three weeks, I played some of my softer, more finger-picking style of songs. For this next three weeks, I am going to raise the tempo a bit and strum away... Then, if @edwardstobia allows us ANOTHER 3 weeks, I will try and play you some of my most energetic, upbeat, bluesy songs – so I hope this Hive Music Festival goes on at least that long! Even longer? Don’t worry, I have enough original songs to happily play one a week for a few more months 😊

Last week I played my song “Factory Town”! It is a song that was inspired by my first job in a factory town in the only ugly part of South Africa when all the mines and coal fired power stations are located! It was a song about how I wanted to break free from that place and return to gorgeous Cape Town.

This week, I want to play you a song called “Southbound Plane” – this makes a lot of sense to me as it is basically a love song to Cape Town, and it describes my feelings when I knew I was coming home after quitting that first job in the factory town. Cape Town is very beautiful with a Mediterranean climate, hence my description of summer winds, winter rains, blue waves, silver sands…

Hola a todos en HIVE, y especialmente a la Comunidad Musical. Me llamo Jasper y os escribo (y canto) desde Ciudad del Cabo, Sudáfrica.

¡Bienvenidos a la Semana 5 / Ronda 2 del Festival de Música Hive! ¡Un enorme agradecimiento a @edwardstobia por mantener el Hive Music Festival en marcha! ¡Es una gran plataforma para alguien como yo para compartir algo de música!

En las primeras tres semanas, he tocado algunas de mis canciones más suaves y con más dedos. En las próximas tres semanas, voy a subir un poco el tempo y a rasguear... Luego, si @edwardstobia nos permite OTRA 3 semanas, intentaré tocar algunas de mis canciones más enérgicas, alegres y bluseras - ¡así que espero que este Festival de Música de la Colmena dure al menos ese tiempo! ¿Incluso más? No te preocupes, tengo suficientes canciones originales para tocar felizmente una por semana durante unos cuantos meses más 😊

¡La semana pasada toqué mi canción "Factory Town"! ¡Es una canción que se inspiró en mi primer trabajo en una ciudad fábrica en la única parte fea de Sudáfrica cuando todas las minas y centrales eléctricas de carbón se encuentran! Era una canción sobre cómo quería liberarme de ese lugar y volver a la preciosa Ciudad del Cabo.

Esta semana quiero poner una canción llamada "Southbound Plane", que tiene mucho sentido para mí, ya que es básicamente una canción de amor a Ciudad del Cabo, y describe mis sentimientos cuando supe que volvía a casa después de dejar ese primer trabajo en la ciudad industrial. Ciudad del Cabo es muy bonita, con un clima mediterráneo, de ahí mi descripción de vientos de verano, lluvias de invierno, olas azules, arenas plateadas...
