Hi guys.
I wanted to share with you a visit that I received yesterday and that gave me a little impression or fear, since it is unusual for them to be around here.
It is a rat snake, or so it is known here in the community.
Its scientific name is Euprepiophis conspicillata.
I didn't know if it was venomous or not, but it didn't seem to be, since I read recently that the shape of its heads, round or flat, said whether it was venomous or not, but also, it was quite small, so it didn't seem very dangerous.
In general, many people, not knowing much about them, just proceed to kill them, but, knowing a little, these small ones are very beneficial.
As its name indicates, rat snake, they have a diet based mostly on rodents, so they can control the plague of rats or mice in the area, that was one of the reasons why I left it, plus I saw another one a few days ago.
A detail about these, is that they adapt very fast to the tropical climate, hence the reason to be able to see it.
In addition, these are very quiet species, even if sometimes they are touched, rather try to move away so as not to be disturbed and go on their way, so that made it a little prettier.
Do I like them?
Maybe a little bit. That orange color with small dots is very striking, and the detail that his head has another color, is even more so.
