Flying to the Andes

Hello friends! In my opinion, flying is one of the most exciting experiences that one can live and if that flight constitutes the beginning of a new adventure then the emotion is multiplied by a thousand, this case would not be the exception and therefore I was about to cover the route Caracas (Maiquetia International Airport) – La Fría (Francisco García de Hevia National Airport) this with the purpose of attending the Santo Cristo de la Grita pilgrimage between August 5 and 6.

Hola amigos! A mi parecer volar es una de las experiencias más emocionantes que uno pueda vivir y si ese vuelo constituye el inicio de una nueva aventura entonces las emoción se multiplica por mil, este caso no sería la excepción y por lo tanto me disponía a cubrir la ruta Caracas (Aeropuerto Internacional de Maiquetía) – La Fría (Aeropuerto Nacional Francisco García de Hevia) esto con la finalidad de asistir entre los días 5 y 6 de agosto a la peregrinación del Santo Cristo de la Grita.

This is a route that I know very well, since on many occasions I have traveled to the city of La Fría, therefore, the trip would be marked by a climate of trust and security, since I would reach well-known places, this time I chose to travel with Laser Airlines, since it was the one that offered the cheapest ticket price and a more comfortable departure time (01:00 pm) and considering that this trip would only last 1 hour, everything was great.

Esta es una ruta que me conozco muy bien, ya que en múltiples ocasiones he viajado a la ciudad de la Fría, por lo tanto, el viaje estaría marcado por un clima de confianza y seguridad, ya que llegaría a lugares conocidos, en esta oportunidad opte por viajar con la Aerolínea Laser Airlines, ya que era la que ofrecía un precio del boleto más económico y un horario de salida más cómodo (01:00pm) y tomando en cuenta que este viaje solo duraría 1 hora entonces todo estaba super bien.

I arrived at the airport 2 hours before, very quickly I checked in and after entering the boarding area I prepared to wait for the time to board the aircraft, meanwhile I was able to enjoy seeing the takeoffs and landings of multiple planes from different passenger and cargo airlines, a situation that filled me with curiosity and prompted me to search the airport application to see what their origins or destinations were.

Llegue al aeropuerto 2 horas antes, de forma muy rápida realice el check in y luego de ingresar al área de embarque me dispuse a esperar a que llegara el momento de abordar la aeronave, mientras tanto pude disfrutar de ver los despegues y aterrizajes de múltiples aviones de diferentes aerolíneas tanto de pasajeros como de carga, situación que me lleno de curiosidad y me impulso a buscar en la aplicación del aeropuerto para ver cuáles eran sus orígenes o destinos.

Already aboard the McDonnell Douglas de Laser we prepared to take off, it was a very calm maneuver and little by little we rose a little more than 30 thousand feet to the Venezuelan Andes, the entire journey was marked by large cumulus clouds that on several occasions had to be avoided, but in general rules there was no presence of turbulence or any other factor that disturbed the tranquility of the trip.

Ya a bordo del McDonnell Douglas de Laser nos dispusimos a despegar, fue una maniobra muy tranquila y poco a poco nos elevamos un poco más de 30 mil pies de altura con destino a los andes venezolanos, todo el trayecto estuvo marcado por grandes cúmulos de nubes que en varias oportunidades hubo que esquivar, pero en reglas generales no hubo presencia de turbulencia ni de ningún otro factor que perturbara la tranquilidad del viaje.

It is impressive to appreciate how from the window of the plane the cities look so small, the islands look like tiny mounds of land and the rivers can be seen as small threads that wind along the ground. No matter how many times one flies, these images always have the power to surprise us, since in each journey we will find something new to look at, a question to answer and thousands of photographs to capture.

Es impresionante apreciar como desde la ventanilla del avión las ciudades se ven tan pequeñas, las islas parecen diminutos montículos de tierra y los ríos se divisan como pequeños hilos que van serpenteando a lo largo del terreno. No importa la cantidad de veces que uno vuele, estas imágenes siempre tienen el poder de sorprendernos, ya que en cada trayecto encontraremos algo nuevo que mirar, una pregunta por responder y miles de fotografías que capturar.

The trip was within the planned time, little by little we descended and settled down to land in La Fría, by this time the immensity of the plain was present, the scattered trees looked to the horizon, while the brown rivers and the cattle farms were everywhere, the landing was quite rough, hahahaha let's just say it was a surprise for everyone, but nothing to worry about. Going down the steps of the plane I realized that the airport was very nice and freshly painted, then when I received the bags everything was super fast, it only took us about 15 minutes, I liked these two elements a lot and they caused me a good feeling I am sure that my trip through these lands will be very successful, soon I will tell you how the pilgrimage to La Grita was. El viaje estuvo dentro del tiempo previsto, poco a poco fuimos descendiendo y nos deponíamos a aterrizar en la Fría, ya para este momento la inmensidad del llano se hacía presente, los árboles dispersos se miraban hasta el horizonte, mientras que los ríos de color marrón y las fincas ganaderas estaban por todos lados, el aterrizaje fue bastante brusco, jajajaja digamos que fue una sorpresa para todos, pero nada de que preocuparse. Al descender por las escalerillas del avión me di cuenta de que el aeropuerto estaba muy bonito y recién pintado, luego al recibir las maletas todo fue super rápido, solo nos tardamos unos 15 minutos, estos dos elementos me gustaron mucho y me causaron una buena sensación, estoy seguro que mi viaje por estas tierras será muy exitoso, pronto les contare como estuvo la peregrinación a la Grita. ¡¡Saludos!!
