Hello brothers and sisters, We are Indonesia Bersatu, a Punk Rock band from Medan, Indonesia. It's great to be back and sharing music videos with all the full band personnel in the weekly #openmic event which has entered its 152nd week. So, the theme for this week is "Traditional Music" chosen by this week's spotlight artist @bertrayo. It's an interesting theme, so we chose a cover song called "Selayang Pandang", which in English is Overview written by Lily Suhairi, an Indonesian artist and culturalist.

For us, this week's theme is very interesting and very good. So, we can all get to know each other's regional music. Traditional music and arts must be preserved to maintain our regional characteristics and also maintain our cultural diversity. Traditional music and arts are the identity of the nation that must be developed and preserved. Don't let there be any regeneration. Therefore, this week's theme will create innovation and revive traditional music so that the characteristics of a region are not lost.

The song we played today is a traditional song of the Malay tribe. The characteristic of Malay culture is Pantun. Pantun is one of the literary works that are still popular today. Initially, pantun is a form of oral literature that became a tradition among the Malay community. Not only at traditional events, when we visit Malay traditional areas, indigenous people often compete in pantun, both at home and in coffee shops.
