Hello brothers and sisters, We are Indonesia Bersatu, a Punk Rock band from Medan, Indonesia. Today we are back, but only 3 personnel are present. Because our vocalist is performing tarawih prayers at the mosque so there are only three of us with makeshift tools, namely acoustic guitars and virtual drums installed on my Android phone. So, the weekly #openmic event has now entered week 158 with the theme Let's Defeat The Distance. This theme was chosen by our spotlight artist @karlex77. It's an interesting theme, so we performed a cover song called Film Murahan in English is Cheesy Movie by Romi & The Jahats, a punk rock band from Jakarta, Indonesia.

In this week's theme, we chose this song because, in the confession of the vocalist named Romi, this song is the story of his life when he was young. He chose to live his life out there even though his parents had forbidden him. After 9 years of not returning home, he finally regretted and justified his parents' words. A child, even if he chooses to separate from his parents over a long distance and a long time, will feel homesick and want to return home.

Not only did Romi feel this way, but I also left home leaving my parents and sister behind. At that time, I chose a life on the streets that was hard and full of challenges. My parents and sister forbade me from hanging out with street youths, but with my strong ego, I refused and chose to live with my friends on the streets. After a month I thought that I couldn't go on living like this. I missed my mother and sister, so I went home and apologized to them. After returning home I resumed school, but I did not forget my experiences and friends who lived on the streets. They also gave me valuable life lessons when I was separated from my family.
