    About :

Wanted to share another dance video that I shot at Boracay with these two amazing Zouk teachers - Ianne & Jem. Well, Zouk is a different genre of Afro-Latin Dancing. It's different and for me difficult only because I haven't taken formal classes on this yet. They are only offering such in Manila and usually takes weeks or 8 sessions to graduate Level 1. Well, I'm planning to but perhaps next year!

Anyways, during our impromptu shoot of this dance - we had some technical problems! The Go Pro I was using at first kept on cutting midway through the dance and so even when the dancers were already doing good, I had to cut the recording halfway through. 😭 It still was the same during the 2nd take until I decided to switch to the Go Pro Hero 9 our 3rd take was a success. Yes, I had 2 Go Pro with me. One was @ybanezkim26 which he lent me.

Another challenge we had during this shooting was that the weather wasn't all that sunny. It was kind of gloomy, the skies were filled with dark clouds but we had to push through as this was teacher Ianne's request. It was our last day in Boracay and we don't know when we will be back. Guess what? It rained after our 3rd take! I think the Universe got our back for that one.

Teacher Ianne chose the song "Lift Me Up" by Rihanna - one of the soundtracks to the movie Wakanda (which I haven't seen yet) as the music they would dance to. The song is deep and full of emotions and the dancers need to interpret it with their unique style of dancing which they were able to deliver. Though it was pretty intense even during the shooting part. Good thing, I was assisted by my dance coach too.

Although I did have some challenging editing this clip. During our last take, the dancers slipped and fell so I had to cut that out. Good thing we had 3 raw footage which I utilize to make this one magical dance video. Took me 12 hours to edit and a lot of revisions. In the end, I was satisfied with the results and the dance teachers appreciated how I was able to make it seemingly flawless. But I know I got a lot to improve in terms of video editing!

Anyways, enjoy the video. Let me know your thoughts. Have you tried dancing Zouk? 😍
