    [ENG]

    Greetings friends of Hive Pets,

Today I want to talk to you about the voracious appetite of my little dog Doll. I have found that cats never seem to get full, no matter how much they eat they always want more. I have never raised them at home, but I have had the opportunity to have them around when visiting friends and acquaintances, so could it be that my dog has a cat appetite? The other dogs I have had have refused food if they have just eaten, it is perfectly normal. However, Doll wants to eat all the time, even when she has just eaten, she really doesn't get full, anyone who sees her thinks she doesn't eat and it's not true.

Doll eats twice a day, she eats a small portion for breakfast in the morning, then at 2:00 p.m. she eats again, the portion is bigger. She controls the time, if I have gone over 14:00 hours, she reminds me, she starts to cry and if the wooden door is closed, she hits it with her little paws. This may be normal, she is used to a schedule, but lately she has been very anxious, if she sees us eating she gets desperate even if she has already eaten. I usually eat lunch between 12:30 pm and 1:00 pm approximately, then, she starts complaining. Despite this, I wait for her usual feeding time to feed her. If she finished eating and then she sees us snacking, having dinner or lunch (sometimes for work as after hours), she makes a fuss to get food. Doll eats everything, my dad says "if you throw a stone at her she swallows it whole".

Despite eating well here at home, she never seems to get full. When she arrived here, Muñeca had a healthy coat, no skin diseases, what she did have were some ticks and she was very thin, you could see her ribs. The truth is I don't know if she was living in a house and then she was abandoned, the good condition of her coat indicated that she didn't always live in the street, at least that's what I think.

In the beginning, even though I had her living with me at home for a few months, she was thin for a long time, she was feeding well, she just shared the rations with other dogs in street conditions that I helped. It was not easy to feed three dogs, feeding them twice a day. Eventually, one of them went to the rainbow, his name was Tormenta, then only Muñeca and Perrito were left. When Perrito accompanied Tormenta on her journey, Muñeca began to have the food all to herself, it was a total change, she gained weight, you can see the difference.

In spite of this, my little dog does not get full, what's more, I was surprised to see how Perrito, who lived in the street, ate with moderation, while Muñe ate with desperation, as if it was the first time she had eaten in years. When I give her a piece of bread in her mouth, she almost rips my hand off, I have to previously make gestures to her, the only way to make her understand that she must grab the bread carefully. Doggy, on the other hand, first smelled the bread, sometimes she didn't want it and other times if she grabbed it she did it very carefully, a big difference.

Sometimes Muñeca cries indicating that she wants to go out to the garden, when she goes out it is to look for the window of my father's room, because he happens to be eating there. Unbelievable, this dog smells the food even if it is far away. It has happened that she wants to go out to the garden and she goes straight to pick up a piece of bread that the neighbor has left among the plants and I wonder how she knew that. She knows the sound of the bag of cookies, as soon as it rings she comes to me and of course she wants her ration.

I made the video to show how Doll gets at mealtime. She starts running from one side to the other, euphoric, barking, who knows what she is telling me, maybe she wants me to hurry. When I'm about to serve her the food, she starts to walk around and around without stopping, she reminds me of the anime Tazmania, she is always hungry and she moves around all over the place, the truth is that seeing her like that makes me laugh a lot.

That attitude of hers sometimes makes me desperate, it stresses me out a bit when she starts running and barking, you know, you are not always in the mood, what I do is scold her and send her to the yard. It's funny to watch her, when that happens, she peeks and hides repeatedly. Mealtime is her crazy time, only once I didn't see her in that state, it was on an occasion when I had to take care of a male Pincher for a weekend, she felt invaded, self-conscious, but that was only the first day, after she gained confidence she was back to her usual self.

In the video we also see the way Perrito ate. For Muñeca it was not her best scene, I have seen her more desperate. It seems she never got over that hunger thing, as well as the bad habit she has of rummaging in the garbage can when she has escaped from the house. In some TV programs dedicated to dogs they say that you should not give him food when the dog is very desperate, you have to wait a bit for the euphoria to pass, otherwise, he will learn a bad habit that later is difficult to control. I apply this advice to Muñe, but her reaction is still the same.
