Hiking at the city mountains (Quebrada La Vieja, Bogotá, Colombia)| @hanselmusic

Hello Hive friends! I really like travelling to new and also known place. This time I wanted to show you a place where I really like to go.

¡Hola amigos de Hive! Me gusta mucho viajar a lugares nuevos y también lugares que conozco. Esta vez les mostraré un sitio donde me gusta ir.

This place is located in Bogotá city. Among all the buildings, people and pollution, there is a place where you can breathe fresh air and having fun hiking in a natural environment.

Este lugar está ubicado en la ciudad de Bogotá. Entre edificios, la gente y contaminación, esta es este lugar donde puedes disfrutar de aire fresco y divertirse caminando en un lugar muy natural.

My brother and I started our way to this place by waking up early. Well to me is very early 5:30 am haha. We went by bike and we didn’t miss the sunrise so it was so cool. There were some cars and people in the streets at that time.

Mi hermano y yo comenzamos nuestro camino hacia este lugar levantándonos temprano. Bueno para mí es muy temprano a las 5:30 am jaja. Fuimos en bici y no nos perdimos el amanecer así que fue muy bonito. Había algunos coches y gente en las calles en ese momento.

Once we arrived, we parked the bikes and started the path of this natural passage. There were some suggestions at the moment of hiking but we already known the way to the final track. The weather was good because wasn’t so hot nor cold, perfect to walk. Since the beginning you can see a lot of trees and feel the peace.

Una vez llegamos, estacionamos las bicicletas y comenzamos el camino de este pasaje natural. Hubo algunas sugerencias en el momento de la caminata pero ya conocíamos el camino a la pista final. Hacía buen tiempo porque no hacía tanto calor ni frío, perfecto para caminar. Desde el principio puedes ver muchos árboles y sentir la paz.

This natural park is supervised by the local government and this helps to the conservation of the natural parks and promotes the active recreation. You can see people like early birds, hiking, jogging and disconnecting from the city. My brother uses to go to there more often than me. The more early you go, the better.

Este parque natural es supervisado por el gobierno local y esto ayuda a la conservación de los parques naturales y promueve la recreación activa. Se puede ver gente como madrugadores, hacer senderismo, trotar y desconectarse de la ciudad. Mi hermano suele ir más que yo. Cuanto más temprano vayas, mejor.

After walking about 1 hour, you’ll find a forest. This is my favourite place in this park. The ground feels so soft and is perfect to take a rest, eat something. People go there to meditate, talk with friends, or simple relax. I just close my eyes and let myself go.

Después de caminar alrededor de 1 hora, encontrarás un bosque. Este es mi lugar favorito en este parque. El suelo se siente tan blando y es perfecto para descansar, comer algo. La gente va allí para meditar, hablar con amigos o simplemente relajarse. Cierro los ojos y me dejo llevar.

We wanted to go to one of the peaks of the mountain, so we keep walking until reach the destination. We walk around 20 minutes more and reached the end. You can see, part of the city from there. The view is amazing. Keep in mind that Bogotá is around 2600 mts above the see. So if you’re not a citizen, you’ll probably will be lacking of oxygen here.

Queríamos ir a uno de los picos de la montaña, así que seguimos caminando hasta llegar al destino. Caminamos unos 20 minutos más y llegamos al final. Puedes ver parte de la ciudad desde allí. La vista es asombrosa. Ten en cuenta que Bogotá está a unos 2600 mts sobre el mar. Entonces, si no eres ciudadano, probablemente te faltará oxígeno aquí.

I was feeling I little bit tired because I didn’t have enough food and breakfast because we were very hurry to get to this place. So after we descended, we went to the restaurant where my brother works. He’s a boss there, and we ate a very delicious breakfast. We went back to home in our bikes and was time to rest.

Me sentía un poco cansado porque no tenía suficiente comida y desayuno porque teníamos mucha prisa por llegar a este lugar. Entonces, después de descender, fuimos al restaurante donde trabaja mi hermano. Él es un jefe allí, y desayunamos muy rico. Regresamos a casa en nuestras bicicletas y era hora de descansar.
