Welcome to Afritunes week 60. Today I will be doing a cover of the song Papa by Johnny Drille. First of all, Johnny Drille is one of my favorite artist in Nigeria. I'm a huge fan of his music. He's such a beautiful song writer with an amazing voice. This particular song has a mixed feeling with me. I love the lyrics, composition and rhythm but whenever I listen to it, it usually makes me emotional. The song is a tribute to his father. How amazing he is and how much he cares for him. I don't have a father so whenever I hear the song, it makes me wish I have one.

Nevertheless, I'm blessed with an amazing grandfather who is so caring. I get to experience little of the fatherly love through him. He's always calling to check up on me and he takes care of me the little way he can. I'd say im fortunate to have him in my life.

I sing this song as a shootout to every responsibile fathers out there, you guys rock. Taking care of the family isn't a small thing to do and most times, father's rolesare overlooked compared to mothers. You guys are amazing and I pray you eat the fruit of your labour.
