I want to welcome you all to another week of Hive Open Mic which is week 135. I'm so grateful for this week's theme Fight Opression which was choosing by the amazing @indonesiabersatu. For my submission I decided to do the cover of the song Rise Up by Andra Day. The moment I saw this theme the song was the first thing that came to my mind. This song talks about us raising up each time we are tired and down. As we all know Opression comes everyday from either an external force or an internal force.

It means that we will come across things that will pull us down. It will look like nothing else will make it better. It will look like we should just give up as no point in fighting when it doesn't look like we are going to win. That is where the lyrics of this song come to play. We should rise up each time we are tired and have lost our fighting strength. We should rise up and keep on fighting even if we have to do it a thousand times again.

I feel like this song is so much needed at this time. The world is getting more and more toxic and more difficult to love in as each day passes. Most days when I wake up its like I see no reason to continue and I just want to give up. Most days I can't even find the zeal within myself but then again I still pull through and tell myself I'm not giving up today. Lot of things are happening in the world now that are making the situation more and more difficult and so I'm using this song to encourage us to never give in to the Opression. We should rise up and keep on fighting. Fighting gives us a chance of victory and we should never throw that chance away.

Buenos días a todos,

Quiero darles la bienvenida a todos a otra semana de Hive Open Mic, que es la semana 135. Estoy muy agradecido por el tema de esta semana Fight Opression que eligió el increíble @indonesiabersatu. Para mi presentación decidí hacer la versión de la canción Rise Up de Andra Day. En el momento que vi este tema la canción fue lo primero que me vino a la mente. Esta canción habla de nosotros levantándonos cada vez que estamos cansados y deprimidos. Como todos sabemos, la opresión proviene todos los días de una fuerza externa o de una fuerza interna.

Significa que nos encontraremos con cosas que nos derribarán. Parecerá que nada más lo hará mejor. Parecerá que deberíamos rendirnos porque no tiene sentido pelear cuando no parece que vayamos a ganar. Ahí es donde entra en juego la letra de esta canción. Debemos levantarnos cada vez que estemos cansados y hayamos perdido nuestra fuerza de combate. Debemos levantarnos y seguir luchando aunque tengamos que hacerlo mil veces más.

Siento que esta canción es muy necesaria en este momento. El mundo se está volviendo cada vez más tóxico y más difícil de amar a medida que pasa cada día. La mayoría de los días cuando me despierto es como si no viera ninguna razón para continuar y solo quisiera rendirme. La mayoría de los días ni siquiera puedo encontrar el fervor dentro de mí mismo, pero aún así lo supero y me digo a mí mismo que no me rendiré hoy. Están sucediendo muchas cosas en el mundo ahora que están haciendo que la situación sea cada vez más difícil, por lo que estoy usando esta canción para animarnos a nunca rendirnos ante la Opresión. Debemos levantarnos y seguir luchando. La lucha nos da la oportunidad de la victoria y nunca debemos desperdiciar esa oportunidad.
