Hello everyone, since I joined this platform, many communities have caught my attention, from photography to the foodies bee hive community. Of course, my goal in this community is to share some recipes, especially Indonesian recipes. The recipes that I share are simple recipes, with the aim that everyone can cook even if only for themselves, both men and women.

    The Recipe

Now, I want to share the recipe for cooking prawns bitter bean with spicy sauce. This is a dish that I often cook at home, as a man born in a family with a small restaurant taught me to be able to cook even if it's only for myself. Apart from being more economical, homemade food usually makes us care more about hygiene and health.

    the ingredients

    The ingredients

    • 5 cloves of garlic
    • 2 tomatoes
    • 10 chilies
    • 15 seeds of bitter bean
    • 1kg prawns
    • Cooking oil, for frying
    • Sesame oil
    • 2,5 tbsp Mushroom broth
    • 1,5 tbsp Brown sugar

The chili itself is optional. If you don't like spicy, it's better to reduce the amount of chili (I use a lot of chilies because I like spicy food). And the bitter bean itself is usually sold here in the form of a bundle so that it is easier for me to write down the approximate number of bitter bean seeds that I use. If there is no bitter bean in your place, you can replace it with other ingredients, one of which I think is suitable is paprika. Because I think the texture and taste of paprika are ideal for cooking with shrimp. Why don't I use paprika, because here the price is relatively high and hard to find.

    mixed garlic and chili

    cut off bitter bean

    cut off tomatoes

Tips: Before cooking shrimp, I usually prefer to peel the skin, remove the head, clean the middle, then apply lime juice to reduce the smell and fishy taste of the shrimp.

    How to cook

It would be best to first prepare the garlic and chili mixture into one. You can use a blender. Here I use the classic method, namely using a pestle.

After the spices are smooth enough, you can fry them using a frying pan poured with oil and make sure the oil is hot enough and not too hot because it will cause the spices to burn quickly.

Second, add the cleaned prawns and stir until the seasoning blends well with the prawns, then add a little sesame oil so that the food smells better.

Third, add flavoring and sugar. I used mushroom broth and brown sugar.

After it is enough, fourthly, add the prepared tomatoes and stir-fry again until half cooked, then add the bitter bean.

Wait a few moments until cooked, and the spicy prawn bitter bean with chili sauce is ready to be served.

    the results

Tips: I don't fry the bitter bean for too long because I'm looking for a good texture of the bitter bean.

This meal can be served for 4-6 people.

I apologize if writing the recipe and how to cook it is not clear. If there is something you want to ask about this, you can write it in the comments column, and I will try to answer it as clearly as possible.

    Thank you, foodies bee hive.
