I took this Photograph in Paseo Los Próceres, Caracas, October 2010. Last concert of the Sirena de Cumaná María Rodríguez.

On this occasion, I am sharing a Jota sample dedicated to the Virgen del Valle with the Amigos de Oriente Group in which I participate as a solo singer.

La Jota, is one of the most complex genres in terms of the performance of the cuatro, you can see it in the video with the sample made by Master Milagros Figuera. On the other hand, La Jota is a melancholic song that contains themes related to fishing, nature, historical events, the daily life of peoples and love. Its origin comes from the Spanish and musically, it is accompanied by guitar, cuatro and bandolin, it is played in a minor or major key. When these songs began, they were generally a cappella or only with bandola and voice, then various musicalizations emerged.

The invitation is to preserve and maintain the Cultural Heritage of our peoples.
    Long live Tradition!
