Estado Lara - Venezuela
En el nombre e´ Dios comienzo
no quisiera comenzar
el que comienza termina
yo no quiero terminar
Padre mío San Antonio
¿dónde estás que no te veo?
yo vine a cantar con él
y me voy con los deseos
Hasta aquí no más sería
hasta aquí no más será
hasta aquí nos trajo el río
la corriente y la quebra´.
Greetings dear Hive Open Mic Community, I hope you enjoy the here and now Big Hug!
In this week Number 114 with the theme selected by our esteemed artist @davidbolu34 with the theme "More than words". I am accompanied by my son @leogergabriel, whom I thank for his collaboration and dedication in learning the theme, since, originally this song is done alternating in pairs according to the versation and always in two voices.
I will give you a brief summary of "El Tamunangue", it is a traditional Venezuelan festival, named Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 2014. It is a religious manifestation where people dance in honor of San Antonio de Padua, it is done in payment of a promise to ask for a boyfriend or girlfriend, to find lost objects and in some cases for illness.
It is also performed in towns of Lara State such as Curarigua, Barquisimeto, El Tocuyo, Carora, Sanare, among others. There is a certain magic that surrounds dancers, musicians and singers, who with special devotion pay tribute to this Saint to the rhythm of instruments such as the cuatro, requinto, cinco, medio cinco, seis larense, all part of a Batería de Cordófonos and is accompanied by the Tamunango or small cumaco and maracas, present as part of the Afro-Venezuelan influence intertwined with the Hispanic.
Today I bring you a sample of "La Batalla", initial song in the manifestation to give way later to the seven sones such as: La Bella, Juruminga, Yiyivamos, Poco a poco, Perrendenga, Galerón, Seís Figureao, it is worth noting, that manifestation starts from the night of the day before on June 12 of each year with the Velorio a San Antonio de Padua, Tonos y Décimas are sung in homage to him, Then the next day after the mass and before the beginning of the Sones de Negros, La Salve and "La Batalla" are performed, the latter is a choreography made by couples that simulate a battle with machetes or clubs to then give continuity to the respective sones.
I hope you like the theme and thank you for giving us this wonderful space.
Folklore Lyrics and Music
Lara State - Venezuela
In the name of God I begin
I don't want to begin
he who begins ends
I don't want to end
My Father San Antonio
where are you that I don't see you?
I came to sing with him
and I'm leaving with desires
Until here no more it would be
until here no more it will be
the river has brought us this far
the current and the break'
