    About :

It's another beautiful Sunday for the Hive Learners Creative Sunday Initiative and as usual, you will spend some time with me in the kitchen.

For today's entry, I decided to cross borders. Food is one of the unique things that define our culture and I hope my Igbo brothers and sisters will take their time to rate my preparation of one of their favourite soups. Although I didn't use all the condiments they would have used but I felt really happy preparing the soup.

In this post, I will take you through the process of preparing the delicious Afang Soup so relax, learn and enjoy.

Afang Soup is one of the most nutritious soups out there and the aroma plus taste make it just irresistible to many people. The major recipe are vegetables and protein which gives us vital nutrients needed by our body system.

    Recipes

    1. Pumpkin leaf
    2. Waterleaf
    3. Palm oil
    4. Chicken
    5. Seasoning
    6. Locust beans
    7. Basil leaf
    8. Onion
    9. Pepper
    10. Cowskin
    11. Stockfish

    Preparation.

Remember health is wealth so before anything will be done, all the recipes that need to be processed must be processed. Cooking isn’t just about making a meal, it involves cleanliness as well. We eat to stay healthy so let's always do it right.

After cleaning the recipes, I started cooking.

    • I started with cooking the chicken, cowskin and stock fish. I added some onions, and seasoning and allowed it to cook properly.

    • After cooking, I poured palm oil into the cooked chicken and others. I added blended pepper, locust beans, the remaining onions and seasoning. I allowed everything to cook again for about four minutes before adding the vegetables at separate times.

    • I added the water leaf and basil leaf first, the pumpkin leaf went in about three minutes later. I allowed everything to cook again for another three minutes before turning off the cooker.

Preparing Afang Soup doesn't take time since the soup is made up of basically vegetables. The soup is economical depending on the protein you want to use, the recipes aren't restricted to everything written up there.

You can add prawn, octopus, crab, beef and any other protein you can afford. The soup is delicious and goes well with any swallowed meal, I had mine with Fufu and really enjoyed it.

Thanks for reading and watching the video, wishing you all a beautiful week.
