This time, I performed two songs from two legends heavy metal bands. Holy wars from MEGADETH and Battery from METALLICA

The story of two 'giant' bands, Metallica and Megadeth, seems to be a spice in the story of the world music industry. It was reported that the two heavy metal leaders did not get along. This was due to the fact that the founder of Megadeth, Dave Mustaine, was previously a Metallica member who was fired 'dishonorably'.

Megadeth is arguably Dave Mustaine's 'heartache project'. Why? Reporting from the Metal Hammer magazine website, Mustaine is one of the personnel in the initial formation of Metallica. Yes, he used to be the guitarist of the band that now has the formation of James Hetfield (Vocals and Guitar), Kirk Hammet (Guitar), Robert Trujillo (Bass) and Lars Ulrich (Drums). The red-haired man was fired from Metallica before his debut album, 'Kill 'em All' was released in July 1983 ago. The reason was, because Mustaine was then known as an addicted drunkard alcohol and drugs.

He was then sent home from the Metallica tour by his bandmates from New York to San Francisco. On the way, Mustaine pondered and prompted him to form a band that was tougher and more brutal than Metallica. "I want their blood (Metallica). That's what was on my mind at the time," said Mustaine. So, in the summer of 1983, the man who was born in California, 57 years ago, also formed Megadeth with the bassist, David Ellefson. At that time, the band's guitar sector was filled by Chris Polland and Gar Samuelson

The four of them then released their first album, entitled 'Killing is My Business... And Business is Good' in 1985. During 35 years of hitting the world's loud music lovers , this band has spawned 15 albums. The name of the band that has the mascot 'Vic Rattlesnake' began to be widely known by the public after the release of the album 'Peace Sells... But Who's Buying' in 1986. The song 'Peace Sells' also managed to captivate loud music lovers with Mustaine's fast but melodic guitar playing.

But in my opinion, In terms of quality, I wouldn't say Megadeth is better in quality than Metallica. I prefer to use the term Megadeth to give it a "different color" from Metallica. Because it must be admitted that Metallica has solid songwriting skills. His dismissal from Metallica, which did not go well, made him even more filled with anger and a spirit of revenge. This is reflected in Megadeth's songs, especially on the first album (Killing is my Business … And Business is Good). Album after album Megadeth's music is getting more polished, but the attitude is still there.

Take a look at their masterpiece album, Rust in Peace, which is often considered the answer to Metallica's Master of Puppets. If the riffs on the songs on the Master album seem neat and the songs "atmospheric", the album Rust is filled with wild riffs and guitar duels. The inclusion of guitarist Marty Friedman gives a different feel to Mustaine's guitar solos. In terms of rhythm/riffs guitar "Holy War" can be a good study case. Mustaine composes fast and complex riffs to accompany himself in singing about the Arab-Israeli war.

But now Dave Mustaine and METALLICA's "feud" is over. They even performed one stage concert together.
