Yesterday was a wonderful day, although the heat was really strong, for a moment I saw my garden covered with beautiful butterflies, specifically on top of my lemon tree; unfortunately, I did not have my phone at hand to record how beautiful it looked. Once the sun was no longer so strong, I set out to check out the lemon tree, and I realized that I had a whole nation of these butterflies right under my nose, empty cocoons everywhere and some still to emerge.

I don't know how one of these buds got into the ground, I immediately took it in my hand and placed it on one of the plants there, hoping that this little one would emerge later. What really alarmed my little Mathias was that in another of the plants there was a butterfly that apparently had not finished spreading its wings completely, and which we tried to help a little, but unfortunately, our efforts did not bear fruit, after a few hours the little one had died.

It is really amazing to witness this type of event because it is a sign that we are closer to nature than we think and also that we are at peace with the environment. Curiously, I could notice that these butterflies were not far from the area, since there are more trees in the neighboring houses, but why precisely be in my garden? I don't know, but the truth is that I loved it. For how long were those cocoons in my lemon tree and we didn't realize at any time, what a good camouflage they have had because some of them seem to be just dry leaves, this is one of the things that make these kinds of insects amazing and fascinating creatures.

These >Long Winged Passionaries - Dione Juno>, can lay between 190 and 237 eggs each female, and they do it in a period of three days, so it is probable that the next days you will see more of these little ones around here, another curious fact that I found about them is that their caterpillar is considered a pest for passion fruit plants, and even though in my garden I don't have this plant, in the next garden if they have a very big one whose branches have come to give to my lemon tree, the reason why it is probable that they have come to a stop their pupae in my tree, it is for that reason that I will be seeing many of these small ones by a long time, I only hope not to have to witness another small one with its mistreated wings, the truth is that it is for me something very sad. Ayer fue un día maravilloso, aunque el calor era realmente fuerte, por un momento vi mi jardín cubierto de hermosas mariposas, específicamente encima de mi árbol de limón, lamentablemente no tenía mi teléfono a la mano para grabar lo hermoso que se veía. Una vez que el sol ya no era tan fuerte, me dispuse a revisar el limonero, y me percaté de que en mis narices tenía toda una nación de estas mariposas, capullos vacíos por doquier y algunos que aún faltaban por terminar de emerger.

No sé cómo fue a parar uno de estos capullos al suelo, de inmediato lo tome en mi mano y lo coloque en una de las plantas que allí hay, esperando que esta pequeña puede emerger más adelante. Lo que realmente alarmo a mi pequeño Mathias, es que en otra de las plantas se encontraba una mariposa que al parecer no había terminado de desplegar por completo sus alas, y a la que intentamos ayudar un poco, pero lamentablemente nuestros esfuerzos no rindieron frutos, luego de unas horas la pequeña había muerto.

Es realmente asombroso presenciar este tipo de eventos, pues es signo de que estamos más cerca de la naturaleza de lo que pensamos y que además estamos en paz con el medio ambiente, curiosamente me pude percatar que estas mariposas no se alejaban de la zona, siendo que en las casas vecinas hay más árboles, pero, ¿Porque precisamente estar en mi jardín? ¡No lo sé!, pero la verdad es que me encantó. Durante cuanto tiempo estuvieron esos capullos en mi limonero y no nos dimos cuenta en ningún momento, que buen camuflaje han tenido, pues algunos de ellos parecen ser solo hojas secas, esta es una de las cosas que hacen a este tipo de insectos criaturas asombrosas y fascinantes.

Estas Pasionarias de Alas Largas - Dione Juno, pueden colocar entre 190 y 237 huevos cada hembra, y lo hacen en un periodo de tres días, así que es probable que los próximos días vea más de estas pequeñas por aquí, otro dato curioso que encontré acerca de ellas es que su oruga es considerada plaga para las plantas de maracuyá, y aunque en mi jardín no tengo esta planta, en el jardín de al lado si tienen una muy grande cuyas ramas han venido a dar a mi limonero, razón por la que es probable que hayan venido a parar sus pupas en mi árbol, es por ello que estaré viendo muchas de estas pequeñas por un largo rato, solo espero no tener que presenciar otra pequeña con sus alas maltratadas, la verdad es que es para mí algo muy triste.
