Tener una filosofía de vida de vivir sintiendo extremas emociones y equilibrar nuestro estado de ánimo a niveles menos intensos, es algo que definitivamente se aprende en la medida que entrenamos nuestra mente y cuerpo; las reacciones biofisiológicas se sincronizan con las vibrantes emociones para moldear nuestro estado de ánimo. De esta manera, con un mínimo de creativa imaginación podemos pasarla super chévere con solo revivir recuerdos significativos, verbigracia, el venturoso viaje a Holanda cuando mi esposo se le ocurrió la alocada idea que subiéramos a un columpio de 100 metros de altura. 😅

Cuando me encontraba en la intervenida ribera urbana del majestuoso cuerpo hidrobiológico IJ, en las inmediaciones de la Estación Central de Ámsterdam, llamó mi atención los potentes gritos que provenían de las alturas, al tratar de determinar con más precisión las ondas sonoras, me percato que en la cima de la torre A’dam, abreviatura de Ámsterdam; se mecían de un extremo a otro los parlantes animados que emitían los enérgicos gritos que era una mezcla de valentía y temor. 🙈

When I was in the intervened urban riverside of the majestic hydrobiological body IJ, in the vicinity of the Central Station of Amsterdam, it caught my attention the powerful screams coming from the heights, when trying to determine more precisely the sound waves, I notice that at the top of the tower A'dam, abbreviation of Amsterdam; the animated speakers that emitted the energetic screams that was a mixture of bravery and fear were rocking from one end to the other. 🙈

Mi esposo vio una oportunidad de oro para hacer drenar su inquieta adrenalina y me propuso subir averiguar que tal era la vista desde el espectacular mirador con vista a 360 ºC, eso me pareció muy bien; sin embargo, cuando añade que vamos a subirnos al enorme columpio, la cosa cambió. Mi falta de consenso le llevó a recordarme hazañas más atrevidas que mecernos a 100 metros de altura en el Over the Edge, al que se le atribuye el título de columpio más alto de Europa.

My husband saw a golden opportunity to drain his restless adrenaline and proposed me to go up to see what the view was like from the spectacular viewpoint with 360 ºC view, that was fine with me; however, when he adds that we are going to get on the huge swing, things changed. My lack of consensus led him to remind me of more daring feats than rocking 100 meters high on the Over the Edge, which is credited with the title of the highest swing in Europe.

Su asertiva elocuencia lo indujo a hacerme recordar que había sobrevolando en parapente Ciudad del Cabo, Sudáfrica y me había deslizado entre árboles gigantescos como lo haría la mamá de Tarzán en su mejor época, pues probé valor en Karkloof Canopy Tour®, con una impresionante vegetación de copas, entre otras aventuras; así que por qué no iba a subir a este mega columpio.

His assertive eloquence induced him to remind me that I had paraglided over Cape Town, South Africa and glided through gigantic trees like Tarzan's mom would in her prime, as I tried my hand at Karkloof Canopy Tour®, with breathtaking canopy vegetation, among other adventures; so why wouldn't I climb this mega swing.

Mientras continuaba negociando mi consentimiento a la alocada idea de subirnos a la mecedora que por su magna envergadura sobresalían los asientos y gran parte de los cables respecto al borde de la torre, yo no dejaba de girarme para deleitar mis ojos con la espléndida vista que me permitía ver en escala minimizada las edificaciones, embarcaciones, vehículos, personas y otros, excepto el colosal cuerpo natural de agua y el amplio firmamento celeste.

While I continued to negotiate my consent to the crazy idea of getting into the rocking chair, which, due to its huge wingspan, had the seats and most of the cables protruding from the edge of the tower, I kept turning around to delight my eyes with the splendid view that allowed me to see, in a minimized scale, the buildings, boats, vehicles, people and others, except for the colossal natural body of water and the vast celestial firmament.

El fantástico juego cromático rojo naranja del fenómeno bioquímico efecto Mie en el lejano horizonte, era indicador que se aproximaba la noche. ¡Wao! Subo a plena luz del día o experimento esta locura en la noche; ese diálogo interno se estaba dando en mi mente.

The fantastic red-orange chromatic play of the biochemical phenomenon Mie effect on the distant horizon was an indicator that night was approaching. Wao! Do I go up in broad daylight or do I experience this madness at night; that internal dialogue was going on in my mind.

Después observar el ingenioso artilugio por más de una hora, convencerme de su extrema seguridad y colosal aventura, me decidí a aceptar. No había de otra, mujer cobarde se queda en casa 🤣

After observing the ingenious contraption for more than an hour, convincing myself of its extreme safety and colossal adventure, I decided to accept. There was no other way, cowardly woman stays at home.

El frío y moderado viento se conjugaron para atontarme un poco, no termino de acostumbrarme a las bajas temperaturas que se experimentan estacionalmente en Europa; no es para menos, provengo de mi añorada tierra tropical de Venezuela, específicamente del estado Monagas, donde la temperatura promedio anual es igual o superior a 28 ºC y el organismo se aclimató tanto que me cuesta soportar bajas temperaturas.

The cold and moderate wind combined to stun me a little, I am not used to the low temperatures that are experienced seasonally in Europe; no wonder, I come from my longed tropical land of Venezuela, specifically from the state of Monagas, where the average annual temperature is equal or higher than 28 ºC and the body is so acclimatized that it is difficult for me to withstand low temperatures.

Y sin continuar pensándolo, me encontraba a bordo de este asiento volador con oscilantes movimientos de va y ven que dejaron ir mi imaginación más allá del tiempo; proyecté mi mente en la floreciente época de Oro del país de los tulipanes. Cómo había evolucionado industrial, comercial y tecnológicamente esta hermosa tierra.

And without further thought, I was aboard this flying seat with oscillating back and forth movements that let my imagination go beyond time; I projected my mind in the flourishing Golden Age of the country of the tulips. How this beautiful land had evolved industrially, commercially and technologically.

Una fuerte dosis de adrenalina hizo desaparecer cualquier conato de miedo en nosotros, sobre todo en mi; el efímero vacío estomacal desapareció en menos de un par de minutos. El gigantesco espejo de agua proyectaba parcialmente el reflejo de sombras y luces. Algo sumamente hermoso que me hizo sentir sensaciones de dominio y grandeza. 😍

A strong dose of adrenaline made any hint of fear disappear in us, especially in me; the ephemeral empty stomach disappeared in less than a couple of minutes. The gigantic mirror of water partially projected the reflection of shadows and lights. Something extremely beautiful that made me feel sensations of mastery and grandeur. 😍

Pienso que haber subido al columpio en horas nocturnas fue la mejor decisión, ya que durante la tarde lo había hecho de manera circular y en este caso disfruté muchísimo la ciudad completamente iluminada.

Al terminar la atrevida subida en el columpio, descendimos hasta la terraza, específicamente en el glamoroso restaurant para beber unas copas y cenar. En el se encuentra una réplica de la ingeniosa torre A'DAM que atrae la mirada de los comensales y visitantes.

After finishing the daring climb on the swing, we descended to the terrace, specifically to the glamorous restaurant for drinks and dinner. There is a replica of the ingenious A'DAM tower that attracts the gaze of diners and visitors.

Fue mi primera vez en Ámsterdam y quedé encantada con la hospitalidad social, modernización urbana y riqueza hidrológica. Disfruté mi corto viaje en febrero de 2020, a propósito de celebrar el día del amor y la amistad.
