(ENG/ESP) IMAGINE: A musical memory from the beginning of the pandemic

Comenzando la cuarentena una incertidumbre nos tenía a todos con la duda de qué hacer. Bueno yo estuve muy ocupado arreglando mi casa, haciendo miles de manera online, pero mi violín nunca dejo de acompañarme. En la búsqueda de nuevas notoriedades grabe una serie de videos cortos de temas clásicos que han repercutido en la historia. De esos videos, este nunca fue publicado.

At the beginning of the quarantine an uncertainty had us all wondering what to do. Well, I was very busy fixing up my house, making thousands online, but my violin never stopped accompanying me. In the search for new notoriety I recorded a series of short videos of classic themes that have had an impact on history. Of those videos, this one was never published.

En este caso, me decidí en ese momento a grabar un corto video del clásico de John Lennon “Imagine”, un tema como solista del cantante inglés que fue parte de su segundo álbum. Es difícil imaginar que ya han pasado 50 años desde su lanzamiento en el año 1971. Un disco que fue lanzado en un momento donde el mundo cambiaba rápidamente, las tensiones políticas y sociales estaban a flor d piel a nivel mundial.

In this case, I decided at that time to record a short video of John Lennon's classic "Imagine", a solo song by the English singer that was part of his second album. It's hard to imagine that 50 years have already passed since its release in 1971. An album that was released at a time when the world was changing rapidly, political and social tensions were at their peak worldwide.

Un tema que logro alcanzar el número uno de las listas del Reino Unido y Estados Unidos, país donde Lennon fijo residencia el mismo año del estreno de Imagine y desde donde comenzaría a tomas una posición política que comenzó a involucrar en sus siguientes trabajos.

A song that reached number one on the charts in the United Kingdom and the United States, a country where Lennon took up residence the same year of Imagine's release and from where he began to take a political position that he began to involve in his next works.

El lugar para grabar, por su puesto fue mi hogar. Un lugar neutral donde me sentía seguro en momentos donde todos estábamos en casa protegiéndonos del virus que ha hecho que el mundo cambie más en un año que en los últimos diez.

The place to record, of course, was my home. A neutral place where I felt safe at a time when we were all at home protecting ourselves from the virus that has made the world change more in one year than in the last ten.
