    ENGLISH VERSION

Curiosities of philosophers #2 "Diogenes of Sinope".

Hello friends of Hive, today I come with my third Threeshort, just like the previous one I want to mention to you some curiosities of philosophers.

So I want to tell you anecdotes about Diogenes the dog, who we must admit was a more than interesting philosopher, both for his reflections and for his life, because we must say that Diogenes was truly an eccentric character.

One day Diogenes learned that Plato had defined the human being as a two-legged animal without feathers. So he looks for a chicken, removes its feathers and goes out to meet Plato. And he says to him: "Plato, here is a man" and Plato had to change the definition and say that the human being is a "biped animal, without feathers and with wide nails".

Another great curiosity about Diogenes is that as word spread throughout Greece that he was a sage, Alexander the Great wanted to meet him and traveled to the famous Greek polis to meet him. When they were face to face, Alexander says something like this to Diogenes, you can ask me whatever you want, he grants it, he has earned such a favor for being a wise man. To which Diogenes replies: "Get out of my way, you are blocking the sun". Alluding to his simple way of living.

He lived so simply that he had very few belongings and something truly curious is that he used to relieve himself in the streets of the city in front of all the citizens, even masturbating in public.
