Today's music is titled Los Pasteles (cakes). It is a Joropo Oriental Sucrense (JOSU). The author of this music is the mandolinist Cruz Acuña (1924-1985). This Venezuelan joropo is composed under the tutelage of the purest and most ancient musical tradition of eastern Venezuela. This particular joropo has the characteristic of a single piece that always revolves around 6/8 and 3/4 measures and so the music follows, giving it that traditional touch of the Joropo that is made in the Sucre state.

La música de hoy se titula Los Pasteles. Se trata de un Joropo Oriental Sucrense (JOSU). El autor de este música es el mandolinista Cruz Acuña (1924-1985). Este joropo venezolano está compuesto bajo la tutela de la más pura y rancia tradición musical del oriente venezolano. Este joropo en particular tiene la característica de una sola pieza que siempre gira en torno a los compases de 6/8 y 3/4 y así va sucediéndose la música, de manera que le da ese toque tradicional del Joropo que se hace en el Estado Sucre.

On this occasion, I had the honor of being accompanied in the Venezuelan Cuatro by the renowned musician Alfonzo Moreno and in the Cajon Peruano by Diego Padilla. It would be convenient if you pay a little attention to the particular and characteristic way that this Venezuelan cuatrista stands out in the way of accompanying this joropo because he is one of the few musicians who recreate, in a traditional way, this type of Venezuelan joropo, which makes this type of music much more valuable for all the load of cultural identity that is imprinted on it.

En esta oportunidad, tuve el honor de ser acompañado, en el Cuatro venezolano por el reconocido músico Alfonzo Moreno y en el Cajon Peruano por Diego Padilla. Sería conveniente que le prestaran un poco de atención a la manera particular y característica que este cuatrista venezolano se destaca en la forma de acompañar este joropo pues se trata de uno de los pocos músicos que recrean, de manera tradicional, este tipo de joropo venezolano, lo que hace mucho más valiosa este tipo de música por toda la carga de identidad cultural que se le imprime.
