    নিটিং এ যারা জব করেন বা ফেব্রিক ম্যানুফেকচারিং এর ছাত্র তাদের জন্য নিটিং (Knitting) এর গানিতিক সমস্যাগুলো অনেক গুরুত্বপূর্ন। আমরা জানি, নিটিং এর মূল কাজ সেটিং পয়েন্ট ও ক্যাল্কুলেশন সংক্রান্ত। তাই আমি ধারাবাহিকভাবে Knitting এর যাবতীয় গানিতিক সমস্যাগুলো আলোচনা করেছি। আশা করি এই ম্যাথগুলো মনোযোগ দিয়ে দেখার পর আপনার Knitting Calculation and Mathematics এ আর তেমন কোন সমস্যা থাকবে না।

    আজকে তৃতীয় পর্বে সাধারন কিছু গানিতিক সমস্যা নিয়ে আলোচনা করেছি।
    আজকের আলোচিত ম্যাথগুলোঃ

    1. Calculate the production of S/J knitted fabrics in terms of (let, efficiency 100%)
      (i) Yards per hour [16.67]
      (ii) Pounds per hour [1.559]
      (iii) Fabric Weight per linear yards [0.0935]
      (iv) Fabric Width [16.897” open width, 8.448 folded width]
      (v) Fabric Weight per square yard [0.199 lb]
      of a knitting machine running with the following data
      Machine Speed = 20 rpm No. of Needles = 490
      Stitches per foot = 72 No. of feeders = 12
      Yarn Count = 25 Ne cpi = 24, wpi = 29
    1. Given a 14 G, 20” dia, 40 feeder circular weft knitting machine operating at 25 rpm and 90% efficiency, calculate the length, width and weight of the fabric that could be produced per hour using a two fold resulting yarn count of 12 Ne. Calculate for
      (i) 1 × 1 Rib loop length = 0.2” cpi 27 wpi = 20
      (ii) Interlock loop length = 0.12” cpi 37 wpi = 30
    1. A machine having 32 feeds running at 20 rpm uses two types of yarns, 30s cotton count for ground yarn and 6s cc for inlay yarn. The speed of feed of inlay yarn is 180 feet per minute while that of ground yarn is 480 feet per minute. The feeds are arranged, one ground and one inlay. Two feeds are thus used for one face course. If cpi is 24, calculate the production in yards and lb for 8 hours at 90% efficiency.
      [160 yards, 43.86 lb, 82.25 lb]
    1. A double knit fabric is produced on a 48 feed machine where 24 feeds are knitted on cylinder & dial needles with a course length of 8.2 m using 120 denier yarn and 24 feeds are knitted on dial only with a course length of 3.8 m using 120 denier yarn. Machine is running at 16 rpm with 90% efficiency, calculate production in kg per hour. [2.267+1.051 = 3.328 kg]
