Un arte de gran valor emotivo: la artesanía || An art of great emotional value: craftsmanship

El arte tiene gran variedad de vertientes, se engloba y enlaza de tantas maneras que nos da razones para vivir un día más. Desde EnfocArt estaremos tratando con cada una de las que tengamos oportunidad, y actualmente hemos estado teniendo varias oportunidades para admirar distintas artes, una de ellas, y la razón por la que estamos trayendo este post es para dar un espacio conmemorativo al mes del artesano, un arte hecho con mucha dedicación y pasión.

Art has a great variety of aspects, it encompasses and intertwines in so many ways that it gives us reasons to live another day. From EnfocArt we will be dealing with each one that we have the opportunity, and currently we have been having several opportunities to admire different arts, one of them, and the reason why we are bringing this post is to give a commemorative space to the month of the artisan, an art made with much dedication and passion.

El día del artesano en Venezuela se celebra el 19 de marzo y es una de las actividades más nobles, pero también de las menos reconocidas a pesar de su gran valor. La producción de objetos cotidianos realizados a mano con anterioridad en procedimientos rudimentarios con dedicación cumplía un papel hegemónico, pero con el paso del tiempo y la llegada de la Revolución Industrial pasó a ser secundaria en cuanto a las grandes riquezas que generaba. Por dicha razón puede ser difícil hacerse con un producto elaborado artesanalmente, ya que su precio puede ser elevado en comparación con su equivalente fabricado de manera industrial, lo cual lo vuelve poco rentable, aunque los artesanos pueden producir un objeto como una actividad lúdica sin ninguna remuneración.

Artisan’s Day in Venezuela is celebrated on March 19 and is one of the noblest activities, but also one of the least recognized despite its great value. The production of everyday objects made by hand with dedication and rudimentary procedures used to play a hegemonic role, but with the passing of time and the arrival of the Industrial Revolution it became secondary in terms of the great wealth it generated. For this reason it can be difficult to get hold of a handmade product, since its price can be high compared to its industrially manufactured equivalent, which makes it unprofitable, although artisans can produce an object as a leisure activity without any remuneration.

Sin embargo, sigue siendo un arte, una base, cumpliendo con una singularidad propia al crear algo que nunca será igual a otro, por esa razón es tan especial, la artesanía puede ser fácilmente el sinónimo de algo bien hecho, ya que es realizada con mucho empeño y esfuerzo. Sin importar si la tecnología ha quitado protagonismo, la artesanía lleva consigo la cultura de quien la hace, cumple con una identidad y tiene el valor para ser histórica y popular. Todo lo que hay detrás de aquella obra y el valor emocional hace de todo una experiencia especial; son muchos los oficios artesanales que van desapareciendo. Es un proceso casi inevitable, pero esta realidad provoca una cierta contradicción: “comprendemos racionalmente que la artesanía no es competitiva, pero emotivamente consideramos que un legado importante se está perdiendo.”

However, it is still an art, a base, fulfilling a uniqueness of its own by creating something that will never be equal to another, for that reason it is so special, craftsmanship can easily be the synonym of something well done, since it is made with a lot of commitment and effort. No matter if technology has taken away the protagonism, the handicraft carries with it the culture of the one who makes it, it fulfills an identity and has the value to be historical and popular. Everything that is behind that work and the emotional value makes it all a special experience; there are many crafts that are disappearing. It is an almost inevitable process, but this reality causes a certain contradiction: “we understand rationally that craftsmanship is not competitive, but emotionally we consider that an important legacy is being lost”.

A raíz de esta celebración tan especial hemos tenido la oportunidad de ser partícipe de actividades artesanas junto a la coordinación estadal de la red de Arte para honrar y admirar a todos los artesanos de la Asociación Civil Manos Creadoras en el Municipio Libertador – Estado Aragua, Venezuela.

As a result of this special celebration we have had the opportunity to participate in artisan activities with the state coordination of the Art Network to honor and admire all the artisans of the Civil Association Manos Creadoras in the Municipality of Libertador – Aragua State, Venezuela.

Haremos una mención especial para esta asociación, ya que es una organización cultural educativa de artesanos y artesanas cuyo fin es fortalecer la artesanía del Municipio Libertador, con el objetivo claro de recuperar técnicas y modos de elaboración de artesanías propias del acervo palonegrense, artesanía de las fibras naturales como la Eneas, el vástago de cambur, la hoja de maíz, entre otros, fibras cuyos rubros son autóctonos de la ribera del lago Los Tacarigua, de nuestro estado proveniente: Aragua.

We will make a special mention for this association, since it is an educational cultural organization of craftsmen and craftswomen whose purpose is to strengthen the crafts of the Municipality Libertador, with the clear objective of recovering techniques and ways of elaboration of crafts of the Palonegrense heritage, crafts of natural fibers such as the Eneas, the cambur stem, the corn leaf, among others, fibers whose items are native to the shore of Lake Los Tacarigua, of our state from: Aragua.

Durante todo el mes se estuvo celebrando en distintas áreas al artesano local, dando proyección a sus procesos artísticos y el valor que se merecen. Para esta ocasión todo transcurrió en el Asentamiento Campesino de San Luís, donde se tuvo la maravillosa oportunidad de admirar el trabajo de la gran artesana Justina Aguilar, quién con más de 40 años como tejedora del vástago de cambur deleitó al público con la innovación en cada una de sus artesanías.

Throughout the month the local artisans were celebrated in different areas, giving projection to their artistic processes and the value they deserve. For this occasion everything took place in the San Luis Farmers Settlement, where there was a wonderful opportunity to admire the work of the great artisan Justina Aguilar, who with more than 40 years as a weaver of cambur shank, delighted the public with the innovation in each of her handicrafts.

Observamos a una mujer humilde, trabajadora de la tierra que aprovecha sus tiempos fuera del conuco para transformar esta materia prima en sueños hechos realidad: “yo me imagino la pieza, empiezo agarrando mi pedazo de vástago, lo remojo, lo entrecruzo, me lo imagino y ¡zas! Allí nace cada artesanía” Justina fue este 25 de marzo la artesana homenajeada, se agregó además a la celebración un gran sancocho y el baile tradicional de la burriquita de Choroni y Paulo Ayala, todo esto con la finalidad de obtener un día diferente en donde el aprendizaje y los momentos únicos lo llevaremos en el corazón.

We observed a humble woman, a worker of the land who takes advantage of her time away from the conuco to transform this raw material into dreams come true: ”I imagine the piece, I start by grabbing my piece of stem, I soak it, I intertwine it, I imagine it and zap! There each craft is born“ Justina was this March 25 the artisan honored, was also added to the celebration a great sancocho and the traditional dance of the burriquita of Choroni and Paulo Ayala, all this in order to get a different day where learning and unique moments we will carry in our hearts.

Cabe destacar que este grupo está conformado por gran variedad de artesanos, personajes natales de nuestro estado, amantes del arte en general que brindan un espacio para la promoción y difusión de los artistas locales. Esperamos poder seguir trayendo este tipo de contenido tan especial para nosotras.
