Que paso mi gente, hoy les traigo este cover de ya un clásico de los niños emos de los años 2000 perteneciente al album "Meteora", esta canción fue una de las que marco mi infancia y direcciono mis gustos musicales. La banda Linkin Park fue una de las primeras bandas de metal que escuche en mi vida y como siempre aprovechar de homenajearlos nunca esta de mas.

Un poco de historia

«Numb» habla de alguien que se ha perdido en sí mismo y que olvida que se debe hacer al hecho de que otras personas lo presionan en ser lo que quieren que sea. La canción está hecha para un adolescente, como el vídeo musical muestra varias escenas centradas en torno a una adolescente y el rechazo que constantemente recibe por parte de los demás.

«Numb» se ha interpretado como acerca de cómo los jóvenes (principalmente adolescentes) sienten la presión de poder estar a la altura de las expectativas de muchos, especialmente familiares (padres más probable). Las letras «All I want to do / Is be more like me and be less like you» (en español, «Lo único que quiero hacer / Es ser más como yo y ser menos como tú»), es un claro ejemplo.

Otra interpretación que se le da a «Numb» es la lucha interna de Chester Bennington con su Superyó.

Historia

«Numb» fue usado en el álbum mashup junto a Jay-Z, Collision Course (2004), remezclado junto a «Encore», canción del rapero. Al final quedó «Numb/Encore» que se lanzaría como sencillo en el mismo año y dentro del álbum COLLISION COURSE lanzado en el año 2004. «Numb/Encore» logró ganar el Premio Grammy en el 2006 a Mejor Colaboración de Rap.

Jay-Z y Linkin Park interpretaron «Numb/Encore» en el concierto de Filadelfia del Live 8 en 2005. También LP interpretó «Numb» en Tokio, Japón, concierto del Live Earth en julio de 2007.

Luego, en 2004, Brad Delson introdujo un nuevo riff de guitarra heavy a «Numb», cuando se interpretó en el Rock am Ring.

Aunque haya sonado en el tráiler y en el comienzo de la película Miami Vice, «Numb/Encore» no apareció en el soundtrack del filme. Sin embargo, esta canción se escucha en el comienzo, dentro de un club de baile.

"Numb" talks about someone who has lost himself and forgets what to do because other people are pressuring him to be what they want him to be. The song is made for a teenager, as the music video shows several scenes centered around a teenager and the rejection she constantly receives from others.

"Numb" has been interpreted as about how young people (mainly teenagers) feel pressure to live up to the expectations of many, especially family members (most likely parents). The lyrics "All I want to do / Is be more like me and be less like you", is a clear example.

Another interpretation given to "Numb" is Chester Bennington's internal struggle with his Overself.
