Esoterically, the word "king" means someone who is regnant (someone who reigns). To sit on the throne and reign, we must become (re-member) of our true identity, nature, and origin, prior to overcoming the physical world.
I have overcome the world - Jesus Christ (John 16:33)
Therefore, a king is a mind that disciplined all of its disciples, turned them into apostles, and overcame the Earthly life by doing so, or, simplified, someone who knows his spiritual regnancy over materiality.
This is opposing the world belief. Most people believe they're subjects to conditions, and circumstances, which is why we often may hear them saying "under the circumstances".
The righteous man walks with integrity; blessed are his children after him. A king who sits on a throne to judge sifts out all evil with his eyes. - Proverbs 20:7-8
That is the cheek we need to turn to the world! We can only get smitten by the world if the wrong (physical) side of us is turned unto it.
Do not deal with the world as a human, but from the vantage point of your spiritual regnancy, your spiritual authority, identity, and self-consciousness. - Rev. Ike
Therefore, "turn the other cheek" because the world cannot smite you on your spiritual side. Theologians, as usual, got it all wrong. If you get smitten, that's a signal that you got the wrong side turned to the world. Remember to "fix your face" (metaphorically speaking) every morning, before going out.
