MY THOUGHTS ON VALENTINE'S DAY: COVER OF ÌFÉ CHORUS BY SOLA ALLYSON OBANIYI

GOOD DAY FELLOW HIVERS,
On February 14 every year, Valentine's day is celebrated all over the world. A celebration of love. Marked by various shows of affection and gift exchanges.
This video shows me covering the chorus of a song titled Ìfé, written by Sola Allyson Obaniyi, a notable Yoruba gospel artiste in Nigeria. The word Ìfé means love in English. The song is a classic that is well known amongst Nigérians. The lyrics of the song are quite powerful and full of prayers wishing for lovers to be together forever. The lyrics of the chorus translated to English are:-
Love like the morning dew
Flowing from the throne of the creator
A love so deep
That nothing on Earth can spoil it
Love me forever, my lover

Personally, I have never celebrated one. I have never had a girlfriend so there's never really been someone to celebrate the special day with. I however, still love love, and really admire those who are able to stay true to themselves through the years.
How did I spend this immediate past Valentine's day? Well, for a large part of the day, I was on the ward being drilled by consultants and struggling to get my log book signed. Lol. After getting back to the hostel in the evening, I had a heavy meal, watched a movie and fell asleep. As nothing really spectacular happened that day, the rest of the evening after I woke up is a bit of a blur. I probably just gisted with friends, made a post on Hive, watched a movie, read a little and slept back.
This year, I joined the 'God when' gang, lying in bed alone and doing my own thing. Let's wait to see how next year's Valentine's shall be.
