Hablemos de Autismo: Cita con el Fisiatra [ESP-ENG]

Hoy, en hablemos de Autismo les comparto una actualización de lo que hicimos Amelie, papá (@josuemonterola) y yo está semana con referente a ella. También quiero decirles que Amelie tiene cuenta en Tiktok y pueden conseguirla y seguirla con el nombre de: elmundodeamelie.

Today, in Let's talk about Autism I share with you an update of what Amelie, dad (@josuemonterola) and I did this week regarding her. I also want to tell you that Amelie has an account on Tiktok and you can get it and follow her with the name: elmundodeamelie.

El día Martes fuimos a nuestra cita con el Fisiatra, con la intención de lograr conseguir cita con un Neuro pediatra y Psicología y nos dió el papel para autorizarlo, así que se puede decir que se logró y aunque pasamos más de una hora esperando que nos asignarán de una vez el turno para las citas con los especialistas, lamentablemente no pudimos lograrlo. Luego de estar muy agotada y mi espalda adolorida de tanto cargar y caminar con Amelie, nos dijeron que debemos ir la próxima semana ya que no hay turnos aún.

La otra meta, era lograr que el fisiatra nos asignara Terapia Ocupacional, Psico Rehabilitación y Terapia de Lenguaje, conseguimos las dos primeras y lo mejor es que de una vez nos dieron citas y el Martes 05 de Diciembre, Amelie inicia con TO, terapia ocupacional. La Psico Rehabilitación le tocaba hoy viernes, ella fue al hospital con su papá, pero lamentablemente les cancelaron la cita sin avisar y esto generó un malestar en ella y también en nosotros, ya que no avisaron, pero se la reagendaron para el jueves que viene.

On Tuesday we went to our appointment with the Physiatrist, with the intention of getting an appointment with a Neuro pediatrician and Psychology and he gave us the paper to authorize it, so we can say that it was achieved and although we spent more than an hour waiting for them to assign us once and for all the appointments with the specialists, unfortunately we could not make it. After being very exhausted and my back aching from carrying and walking with Amelie, we were told that we must go next week since there are no appointments yet.

The other goal was to get the physiatrist to assign us Occupational Therapy, Psycho Rehabilitation and Speech Therapy, we got the first two and the best thing is that they gave us appointments and on Tuesday, December 5th, Amelie starts with OT, occupational therapy. Psycho Rehabilitation was scheduled for today, Friday, she went to the hospital with her dad, but unfortunately they cancelled the appointment without notice and this generated a discomfort in her and also in us, since they did not give any notice, but they rescheduled it for next Thursday.

Sobre la Terapia de Lenguaje, no la conseguimos aún, hasta Abril del 2024, ya que la Licenciada está de permiso médico por post parto. Así que nos toca esperar.

En el vídeo podrán observar a Amelie cuando llegamos y en varias partes del hospital. Fueron tomas cortas, pero me encanta que ella se miré y vea fijamente a la cámara muchas veces. Esos fueron los momentos de tranquilidad, luego le dió ansiedad la espera y tuve que luchar con ella, ya que se tiraba al piso, no quería caminar, no quería estar sentada y esto es realmente agotador ya que ahora pesa 20,500 kg, pero logramos parte de la meta.

About the Speech Therapy, we did not get it yet, until April 2024, since the Licentiate is on medical leave for postpartum. So we have to wait.

In the video you will see Amelie when we arrived and in various parts of the hospital. They were short shots, but I love that she looked at herself and stared at the camera many times. Those were the quiet moments, then she got anxious waiting and I had to fight with her, as she was throwing herself on the floor, she didn't want to walk, she didn't want to sit and this is really exhausting as she now weighs 20,500 kg, but we achieved part of the goal.
