The biosecurity measures my children know || Let's learn with Ammy [ENG||ESP]

A little over a year ago, when covid-19 started and arrived in the country where we live, Ecuador, I told my eldest daughter what biosecurity measures we should take.

She never forgot, we made a game of drawing a virus on her hands and she had to wash them several times a day until she managed to erase it.

Desde hace un poco más de un año, cuando comenzó el covid-19 y llegó al país dónde vivimos, Ecuador, le dije a mi hija mayor, cuales eran las medidas de bioseguridad que debíamos tomar.

Ella nunca lo olvidó, hicimos el juego de dibujar un virus en sus manos y ella debía lavarlas varias veces al día hasta lograr borrarlo.

Ammy is always attentive and tries to tell us all that we must comply with the biosecurity measures against covid-19.

The most difficult thing has been to get her sister Amelie (5 years old) used to wearing masks, as she does not tolerate them due to her autistic condition, but on one occasion she allowed her to wear one.

Ammy, siempre está atenta y procura decirnos a todos, que debemos cumplir con las medidas de bioseguridad contra el covid-19.

Lo más difícil, ha sido tener que acostumbrar a su hermana Amelie (5años) a usar mascarillas, ya que por su condición de Autismo, no las tolera, sin embargo en una ocasión permitió usarla.

Ammy always says: remember to wear your mask, don't take it off in the street, wash your shopping well, don't go home with the shoes you left with and wash your hands.

When her grandparents come to visit, she sends them to take a bath and to change all their clothes, I support her in this, as she says it without disrespecting anyone and also these are measures that we must comply with.

At home we don't accept visitors and we don't visit anyone. We only receive grandparents under these measures, as most of the infections have occurred during visits and family gatherings.

Ammy, siempre dice: recuerda usar la mascarilla, no te la quites en la calle, lava bien las compras, no entres a casa con los zapatos que saliste y lava tus manos.

Cuando sus abuelos llegan de visita, los manda a bañarse y a que se cambien toda su ropa, yo la apoyo en eso, ya que lo dice sin faltarle el respeto a nadie y además son medidas que debemos cumplir.

En casa no aceptamos visitas y no visitamos a nadie. Solo recibimos a los abuelos bajo esas medidas, ya que la mayoría de los contagios se han dado en visitas y reuniones familiares.

Just when we thought the virus was receding, today more than ever it is still alive, because we have let our guard down. New strains are hitting hard and our children are at risk, as many are dying.

Teaching our children good habits also includes teaching them to comply with these simple biosecurity measures, which can save their lives.

Cuando creíamos que el virus estaba retrocediendo, hoy más que nunca sigue vivo, por que se bajó la guardia. Las nuevas cepas atacan con fuerza y nuestros niños corren riesgo, ya que muchos estan muriendo.

Enseñar a nuestros hijos buenos hábitos, también incluye enseñarles a cumplir con estas sencillas medidas de bioseguridad, que les puede salvar las vida.
