Friends technology lovers, I want to share with you on this occasion what was my most recent experience in the process of repowering my laptop, my main work tool. I had this pending for a few months, until the time came when I decided to replace the mechanical hard drive that originally brings, for a solid state disk, however I took the opportunity to meet with a specialist in the reconstruction of laptops and desktops, to make a global maintenance to my laptop.

Una de las primeras cosas que se hizo el maestro Oscar, fue remover la tapa externa de la laptop desde donde se pueden apreciar algunos componentes como el disco duro, la memoria RAM:

Y procedió a extraer el ventilador, el cual presentaba un fuerte sonido a la hora de estar la laptop trabajando. El ventilador fue destapado para eliminar con certeza cualquier residuo de polvo en su interior.

Con esta limpieza profunda realizada al ventilador, ahora funciona súper bien, y ese sonido fuerte que tenía mientras trabajaba con mi laptop desapareció. Otro detalle del proceso de mantenimiento que fue necesario abordar era el tema de las bisagras de mi laptop, en verdad se encontraban bastante deterioradas, y me dije ¿Por qué no provechar la oportunidad para arreglarlas de una vez?

With this deep cleaning done to the fan, now it works super well, and that loud sound I had while working with my laptop disappeared. Another detail of the maintenance process that needed to be addressed was the issue of the hinges of my laptop, they were really deteriorated, and I said to myself why not take the opportunity to fix them once and for all?

Parte de las bisagras tenían bastante oxido acumulado, en el recurso audiovisual del comienzo podrás ver el tratamiento que empleó el señor Oscar para remover parte de este óxido. También la cubierta de la laptop tenía elementos rotos, y aprovechamos de unir los mismos:

En todo este proceso de mantenimiento que demoró unas cuentas horas, el señor Oscar me decía: tranquilo, que la instalación del disco sólido es súper rápida... porque en si vine por eso, pero surgieron otras cosas que no podía dejar pasar por alto. Incluso gracias a la amabilidad del señor Oscar examinamos la Tarjeta Madre de mi computador:

In all this maintenance process that took a few hours, Mr. Oscar told me: relax, that the installation of the solid disk is super fast .... because I came for that, but other things came up that I could not overlook. Even thanks to the kindness of Mr. Oscar we examined the motherboard of my computer:

Vale destacar que mi laptop es un equipo que ya para los 10 años conmigo, algunos puertos USB no le funcionan , muchos técnicos a los que le había consultado someramente me decían: eso no tiene solución, pero el señor Oscar marcando la diferencia lo demuestra con hechos, gracias al examen en microscopio que hiciera a la tarjeta madre.

It is worth noting that my laptop is a computer that already for 10 years with me, some USB ports do not work, many technicians to whom I had consulted briefly told me: that has no solution, but Mr. Oscar making a difference demonstrates it with facts, thanks to the microscopic examination that he did to the motherboard.

Como apreciar la tarjeta madre está sulfatada en algunas partes, en el momento que vi esto me sorprendió, y se concluyó que es mucho riesgo proceder a su limpieza, en el proceso se puede malograr. A parte que este trabajo es muy costoso, en término de rentabilidad saldría mejor adquirir un equipo de segunda mano. Es por eso que ya la metra es ahorrar para adquirir una PC de escritorio; mientras tanto a mi fiel amiga hacerle algunas mejoras leves, como aumentar la memoria RAM, arreglar su batería, colocarle un disco sólido, este último paso fue el que realizamos en esta oportunidad:

Le coloqué a mi laptop un disco en estado Sólido de 240 GB, suficiente para mis principales programas, de igual manera la información del disco duro no fue necesario respaldarla, dado que el mismo lo convertimos en un disco externo, acá les comparto una captura de este procedimiento:

Vale destacar que es la primera vez que tengo una experiencia con un disco sólido y los resultados han sido maravillosos, el rendimiento de mi laptop a mejorado considerablemente, programas de edición de videos como Filmora 11, los ejecuta muy bien y el proceso de exportación del video es bastante rápido. Es por eso que me gustaría despedirme con el abordaje de la siguiente interrogante:

En palabras del señor Oscar, la diferencia entre un disco solido y un disco duro convencional es:

Para que tu leas A, el disco tiene digamos que dar 100 vueltas, en un mecánico solamente se posiciona…en un disco duro tienes que dar mil vueltas para leer una palabra, con el sólido vas directo a leerla

Una explicación que podemos contrastar con el portal de LENOVO, donde se reza lo siguiente:

Mientras que un disco duro mecánico utiliza una unidad giratoria para almacenar datos, los discos de estado sólido no tienen partes móviles, sino que funcionan mediante circuitos integrados para crear una matriz de semi-conductores

Así que si tu laptop ya tiene un cierto tiempo de uso, y la misma se encuentra un tanto lenta, una excelente alternativa para mejorar su rendimiento es la colocación de un disco en estado sólido, aproximadamente el mismo me costó 37.5$ con la instalación incluida, y por todo el mantenimiento que se hizo, que nos tomó prácticamente unas 08 horas, incluyendo la conversión del disco duro a disco externo el costo fue de 25$. En resumen, invertí 62.5$ en mi herramienta principal de trabajo, algo necesario para trabajar con mayor comodidad.
