Future Hot Sauce - Creating my Raised In-Ground Bed for Organic Vegetables & Herbs + Earth Deeds
I decided to add an in-ground organic vegetable bed to my garden this year comprised of peppers and herbs. It took a lot of heavy dirt moving to accomplish since I didn't have a wheel barrel to move it.
I thoroughly enjoy spicy foods, and by extension hot peppers. It has always been a dream of mine to create my own hot sauce with organic peppers and herbs that I grew myself, and now I have a chance to finally accomplish that goal.
For this reason I retrieved and planted starts for ghost peppers, Trinidad scorpion peppers, gypsy sweet peppers, lemon verbena herb, and Italian and Thai basil. This combination of peppers and herbs should make for an amazing spicy-sweet sauce blend. I also planted a sugar-snap pea plant at the end of the bed that was hanging on to life by a thread when I got it (independent to the hot-pepper sauce ingredient plants).

There were also at least three #EarthDeeds enacted during the construction of the raised bed. These acts of conservation included reusing last year's extra amendment loaded top-soil, repurposing the plant trellising from last year's cherry tomato plants, and also repurposing a few 2x4's I had laying around to construct the skeleton of the raised bed itself. I even reused nails to connect the boards together.

I greatly look forward to harvesting, pickling, and coagulating these peppers and herbs into some sweet fire hot sauce at the end of the season. Stay tuned to see the sauce making process and final product, and if you live nearby I would love to let you try some if you dare!
